For OH, Mini Type C or Mini Alpha?

I personally reccommend Mini Alpha, but here's a breakdown.

Mini C: I find this is a pretty fast and smooth cube. Cuts decently, but not amazing. Not much reverse at all, and depending on your turning style, it might hinder you instead of help.

Mini Alpha: A pretty fast, crispy cube. I find that crispy cubes allow for more control than the fast and smooth cubes. The cube can cut 3/4 of a cubie and can a reverse a little bit. (A tad more than mini C). I find that this is much cheaper and you have 2 size options. (I think 46mm and 56mm or something like that)

After having used a F-II for a year, I bought a DaYan GuHong at a meetup a week ago and it's WAY better than my F-II. I heard the Zhanchi is even better than the GuHong so I'm asking one for my birthday. I'm just wondering though which one is better; the stickerless one or the regular one?

I'd go for the stickerless one because I'd never have to replace my stickers again, but what are your opinions on them? How do they feel? Are they as good as stickered ones? How's the recognition on them? Etc. etc.

my stickers chip so easily.... i would get a stickerless but the only reason i dont is cuz its not legal in competitions.... dont wanna get too attached to a cube that cant be used in a competition.... unless i have money to spare

Hi guys I've been cubing for a couple of months and now I'm average 30-35 sec with my Rubik store bought (the only cube I have) using F2L+4LLL (thanks badmephisto!), it's lubed with pure silicone grease and turns fast and smooth but doesn't cut corners (ok only a bit) and lock-up a lot! for example if I want to do M U turn if I don't perfectly turn the M layer I can't turn U layer. Because of that H perm and Z perm are a pain.

For next steps in my speedcubing career I'm thinking to buy a Lubix cube to be my first speed cube but I can decide which one. I'm between the ultimate guhong or the ultimate zhanchi (fusion is to expensive for me). Should I consider lunhui and lingyun 2?. So what do you think will be better to be my first speed cube? I want it to be fast, smooth and almost never lock or pop (my store bought never popped!) Also should I have any problems of recognition if I buy a white cube?

Last thing, I'm from South America (Argentina) so if anyone is from near here and have bought a cube from Lubix please tell me your experience, how many days does it take to arrive, shipping safely...?

Thanks a lot! Sorry for the long post and my bad english.

Nicolás.

Sorry for the long post and my bad english.
Ha! I would have put money on you being a native English speaker.
I'd go for the ZhanChi. I got one from Lubix a few weeks ago and I just can't fault it (well, it came a little too lubed, but I wiped a few pieces down and it was fine). With the ZhanChi you have the options of having the anchor pieces in too (so you could have it pretty loose without fear of popping, or you could take them out if you don't pop and want it to be a touch lighter). Postage to the UK was 1-2 weeks, I can't imagine Argentina would take any longer.
I've heard people say that the first time they switched from black to white took a week or so to be totally comfortable with it, and then they were fine, but I've never tried a white cube.

I am also just getting started, and went from a regular Rubiks to a Dayan GuHong with 48 point edge mod. Believe me, once you try a Dayan or an Alpha, you will probably find yourself saying 'wow...' only after a few seconds of turning. It is really dramatically different. Yesterday, I got a LingYun V.2, and in terms of speed, it is very, very fast. For me, I think it feels about 50% faster than my GuHong, and the torpedoes work well with my style.

I think anything you choose will give you a remarkably different feel from the original Rubiks, and if you can solve the original cube quickly, I think you have the potential to shave off a lot more time with a proper speed cube

My brand new DIY ZhanChi is somewhere between China and Japan at the moment- on a slow boat direct from DealExtreme, so I am not sure.

But from having played with just a GuHong, LingYun v2, and an Alpha CC (and original Rubiks) so far, I can tell you that no one cube is objectively better than another- they all have different feels, weights, crispness/smoothness, corner cutting ability, stability, etc.

When you look at any of those cubes disassembled, it is clear that the people who designed them put a lot of thought into it. If you can, be sure to order a few different cubes at the same time so you can learn what you like.

need short 7x7 comparision between v-cube, yj, LL, and SS

I have an old review here comparing the YJ and the V-Cube (not extremely good, but it may answer some of your questions). As for the LanLan, it's nearly identical to the YJ. Finally, ShengShou doesn't currently make a 7x7. They are making an 8x8 first.

I wonder when the X Cube 7 is coming out

the cubic one that's made by the same person that made the x cube 4- hopefully soon.

an x cube 7 that someone else made that has the same packaging as V cube but different outer layer pieces, it's already out. It costs like 20 bucks or something and its probably not as good as V cube but it's small and fits my hands better. It comes pre lubed and for me it came a little too loose. it turns ok, not as good as my alpha 1 and it's adjustable.
