I've seen this thing laying around the house in the past, and I recently found it again, still clueless what the name of the puzzle is... I've asked my parents, and they're clueless as well. I took it apart and reassembled it in a way that seemed to make sense, it lines up. Does anyone here happen to know anything about this cube?

Edit: for those wondering, the core is like a standard Rubik's core, the bricks seem to be attached in a similar way.

One last thing- in case you weren’t aware, Rubik’s Cubes made by Rubik’s are considered to be of poor quality.

I became aware a few days ago upon receipt of my Rubik's cube. Was pretty surprised at how average a build quality it seemed, but then dismissed my initial conceptions, as it's a Rubik's. But thanks for confirming my doubts.

You want the Little Magic SQ-1. And then do the mods that Timothy Townley recommends.

I would include the X too as people still enjoy this puzzle, its my main largely because I can't afford another expensive 3x3, or need one for that matter

Then stick with the X. You will get between -0.05 and 0.05 seconds faster from switching. You don't need another 3x3.

I don't know about you guys but my YLM squan is GARBAGE. I recommend the original Qiyi Squan. I know it has screw stripping issues but unless you use it constantly for months i doubt that it would affect you.

My YLM square 1 lubed with DNM and Silk is so smooth and quiet and effortless

For 9x9, it really comes down to whether you care about turning quality or physical size. If smaller size is important, get the Meilong. If turning quality is important, get the Little Magic.

For 10x10, either the Huanglong or Meilong.

I have smallish hands(one hand can wrap around my 63mm 5x5), would the little magic be too big? Also, how much better is the little magic versus the meilong?

The turning is a lot better, IMHO. Others disagree. The problem with the Meilong is you have to loosen it to make the turning remotely decent but it becomes really, really easy to pop once you do that.

That said, if you have smallish hands, the Little Magic will be too big for you. It's a big puzzle.

Thanks, I've decided to go with the mfjs. My only question is what's the difference between the MFJS MF9 and the MFJS MeiLong 9x9?

Meilong is generally their better line of budget cubes. The meilong is probably better than the MF9
