You dont need to get a beginner cube just cause youre a beginner. I would say just gef a moyu aolong since it is more controllable and stable, or you can get the tanglong as it is both stable and quite fast, but dont get the tanglong if you prefer to be able to control your cube more than being fast.
The yulong is a great cube too but based on my experience after playing with it for a while you need to lube it or it will become sluggish.
The zhanchi is a great cube too but pops quite often, so i wouldnt recommend it as there is far better cubes now.
Personally i like the meiying as it is both fast and controllable to me. If you would like a fast yet contrallable cube, get the cong's design meiying. It doesnt really pop unless you put it on super loose tensions, and both the reverse and normal corner cutting is just magnificent. The only bad thing about this cube is that once youve tried this cube you can never ever go back to the moyu aolong again. At least for me.
Overall i think you should try the moyu tanglong if you would like a stable and fast cube, or a cong's design meiying. I would recommend you to get both to try it out and see which one fits you best, but if you're on a budget and can only get one, then get the tanglong. These cubes does not really need lube but may need some tensioning depending on what you want. Tighter tensions for slower but more controllable, looser tensions for faster, better corner cutting. Just play around with the tensions and find the tension you like.
For a store, i would recommend speedcubeshop.com as they have reduced international shipping price about $7+ for me while thecubicle.us is $11+, and discounts. Check the discounts section for discount codes. You can get 20% off your order if you type in the code 'speedcubes'. This is temporary so buy asap.

Thanks a lot, I think I'll go with the TangLong. I found it for 12.55 bucks at cubezz. Are they reliable? Because its a 6 dollar save from speedcubeshop.

Tanglong is $15.95, if you use the 20% discount code, it would be around the same price, $12+. Idk what's the shipping price of cubezz but speedcubeshop is reduced shipping price so i would rather order from the speedcubeshop. Much more reliable than cubezz too. At least they reply if you dm their insta speedcubeshopofficial on instagram if you encounter any problems or have any enquiries. Not sure if email or other option works though i only tried using instagram XD

For me it will cost 18 bucks through speedcubeshop because I also pay for international shipping (6 bucks).. But I think I'll got with them anyway because of the reliability.

I read it before, but it doesn't seem to have a conclusion.
And whom do you expect to make a conclusion? Make up your own mind. October 2015, it still takes 10 days before they even ship, after I contacted them.

If you need your stuff urgent, order somewhere else or pay for express shipping. If you can wait longer than usual and want your hardware for a good price, place your order.

I have ordered twice from cubezz and both times my orders came in 5 weeks to Toronto, Canada. Although they never respond to emails or have good customer service, the cube will eventually come, and if you are like me and rather wait longer, so you save money then cubezz is a good option.

I am looking for a new 3x3 as my current cube (a zhanchi, had it a long time as I have only recently started cubing again) is suddenly feeling slower and is starting to pop a bit more. I have lubed it up using silicone spray but this seemed to have little affect. Anyway I was considering getting a aolong v2 as I have heard some fantastic things about it (plus it is in the £10-£15 bracket) and was wondering whether this is the cube to get for an beginner/ intermediate cuber like myself or can you recommend any other cubes?

I would recommend the tanglong as it is faster, more controllable and more stable than the aolong v2. At least for me, when i compare both my aolong and tanglong.
If you would like a faster cube for intermediate cubers, i would recommend the cong's design meiying. Not only is it faster (in fact faster than my hualong when comparing my meiying and hualong), controllable, and fairly stable, it also boasts excellent corner cutting of about 50 to almost 60 degrees corner cutting on tensions slightly looser than default tensions and 3/4 to line to line for reverse corner cutting. Again, this is for my cube and your cube might be slightly different depending on the way you set it up.

OK thanks for that, it is actually cheaper too on UKcubestore which is a bonus. On a slightly looser tension how often does it pop or corner twist, or is this not a problem on the cube? Thanks for this quick response too.

For the tanglong or meiying?
For the tanglong i tried loosening the tensions but didnt like the looser tensions as it will cause it to be slightly unstable which was a big deal to me cause i was used to tanglong being stable. It pops when i start turning roughly and fast but other than that it should be fine so long you dont turn roughly. Corner twisting is not an issue as it has squared off corners, and so far i have not encountered a single corner twist except the time my friend corner twisted it on purpose while scrambling.
For the meiying i can confirm that it does not pop at all UNLESS the tensions is loose enough for it to pop, or it might be how you handle the cube. It has some sort of anti popping mechanism that made it hard for me to even take out an edge piece even when the tension is quite loose. Corner twisting shouldnt be a problem, although i have encountered a corner twist before. Yes, my evil friend did it again while scrambing.

It appears I will be buying a tanglong then as I can't find the meiying in the uk and would prefer not to import it from the US and I can find a few more reviews on it. Thanks again for the recommendation, it appears to be pretty much the best cube on the market.

So, I decided I wanna buy a tanglong from speedcubeshop.com, but I have one more question.
I don't know if It'll need lube, and if so which one (Traxxas, Lubix, CRC heavy duty, Jig-a-loo or Maru).
I also saw that they are giving free Lubix lube service if you pre-order any of the custom colors.
I'm thinking to do that to save the extra 6 bucks, but I don't know if the different color will affect my recognition, and therefore learning speed and overall speed.
Any suggestions?

For lube, i would suggest you to get the maru lube if you want your cube to be extremely fast. The bad thing about maru is that it dries up fast meaning you have to get another bottle again if you run out. Watch youtube on how to apply maru lube as it has a different way compared to other lubes. IMO you dont need to lube your cube, but if you want to enhance its performance then do it :)
To me colour doesnt actually affect my recognition. I switch between white, black and stickerless all the time. If youre used to black, i would suggest you to get the brown one which is closest to black which should not affect your recognition much.

Meiying or Thunderclap? which one has a more similar feel to that of a weilong and very fast and smooth and clacky?
Well, the MeiYing is sandy, flexy, and clicky. The thunderclap is much more blocky

Edit: Also, thoughts on the DaYan IV?
What does it more closely resemble: Aolong, Meiying, Shuangren, or Weilong?

Is gans 357 worth getting? Im thinking about buying both the gans 357 and gans 356s(new gans with new center caps). How does the gans 357 feel like? Does it feel like the meiying?

There is nothing I have that feels like the 357 (I have aolong v2, hualong, weilong, meiying, thunderclap, dayan zanchi, guahong, luihong, etc etc). Definitely doesn't feel like a meiying!

It is very loose, but once I got used to the flexing, instability, I love it. You can tighten it but it only will increase the catching, while it still turn loosely. Tension too loose, it may pop (infrequently)

It requires minimum effort to turn. Tiny catching if your turning is inaccurate.

The 356 is also unique and I believe will be many cubers' preferred choice, with the new caps. Virtually unpoppable and corner twist-resistant. [I modded the caps and it performs much better, though I still get a few catches for inaccurate turning]

Does anyone know how is zcube.hk as a shop? Is it reliable?

So ive done some research and apparently there's ultimate edition fot gans 357. Which one should i buy? The ultimate edition or the normal one? Apparently the ultimate edition was crafted (no minecraft reference here) with hand, so it is smoothet and less crappy. Is the extra $ worth it?
