Also I wouldnt exactly argue that because someone broke a world record with a cube, it would be a good next cube for someone with a rubiks brand and sup50 times.
ShengShou aurora for example is a pretty good choice, but so is a zhanchi, fangshi shuangren, moyu weilong etc etc.

I asked this earlier but I was wondering how well the Guhong V1 stacks up against the V2, Zhanchi, and other cubes now. Also could you include pops and lockups.

Well it pops unless you mod it and it's smooth like the V2. It's basically a V2 that pops and is a bit more unstable if you mod it (unless you're really good at modding).

Some still use it as their main but most have moved on for different reasons. Basically it's all about cubing styles. If guhong fits your cubing style, its a good cube. For example the WeiLong is similar but in no way the same cube. It is smooth, but not like a guhong.

What's the best Square-1 and Skewb? I'm interested in getting one of those in the near future.
Also, is the Moyu Weilong or HuanYing or whatever new cube that's came out worth buying if I already have a ZhanChi?

I recently searched about the Sq-1 too and ended up getting a Calvins Sq-1, but I havent received it yet so I cant vouch for it. Cubetwist is also worth a look at apparently. The problem with Sq-1's seems to be popping or lockiness.

Imo yes, the WeiLong is pretty much nothing like a zhanchi. It's worth looking into cubes that feel different. By that logic I could equally recommend a Guhong v2, a Maru CX-3, a FangShi ShuangRen and a Gans III. Forget the HuanYing, its close enough to a WeiLong but a little worse imo. It does have a special feel to it as well but I'd still say its worse than a WeiLong.

Why did you end up getting a Calvin's Square-1? How does it compare to an MF8 Square-1 v1?

Calvin's apparently does not pop whatsoever. As said, I have not actually tried it yet so I cant really speak for it.

CubeTwist Sq-1 pops a lot during solves (or too stiff) and the MF8 is better from the two

Watch this review for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB5agIm5u3E

According to that review the Calvins is not the best but I'll see how it turns out for me. That review argues that Cubetwist doesnt pop, but then according another review it does nothing else but pop.

I'm left confused here, you'll feel like it too probably.

DOUBLE POST but worth it
So I just bought a ShengShou 7x7 LingLong from thecubicle.us because I didnt want to hassle with zcube.cn and their shipping and ended up paying quite a bit for it.

HOWEVER Fasttech.com supplies those now at $25.60 USD. Also MoYu WeiSus at $13.51 USD and ShengShou 4x4 v5s at $7.01 USD.

Worth taking note of!

Really nice price for a mini 7x7 at Fasttech. I'm not sure if that Shengshou 4x4 there is a v5 though, it has no mention of v5 and I have asked the staff about the version a few days ago but no reply. The cheapest Weisu I have found is at Wallbuys at $12.02 after applying discount code "WALLBUYSALLMAGIC", really cheap for a Weisu.

How about the 57mm Fangshi Shuangren v2 vs the Moyu Weilong? And the 55mm Zhanchi vs the 54.6mm Fangshi Shuangren v2 for OH solving?
