you dont need to mod a shengshou it should be enough to set it up very well feliks zemdegs or stevecuber1 for example use unmodded shengshous i think and still get awesome times. i also had my shengshou unmodded and it was ok, when i consta modded it it got a little bit better though but no need to do it. weisu might still be the better choice but you really dont need to mod a shengshou, especially not the v5

Feliks uses a Weisu now.

I don't know if a v5 will lock up as frequently as previous versions. I don't really mind the price difference if the Weisu is indeed a better 4x4 (I've heard that Shengshou's faster though). I'm just afraid tightening the Weisu to prevent pops might decrease its speed significantly, in which case it seems Shengshou might then be a better choice.

Weisu doesnt pop at loose'ish tensions after you have broken it in. It is slower than a ShengShou but it does not really lock up.

ShengShou v5 does not pop, but internals can lock up. This can be fixed by breaking in (requires quite a bit. Maybe 10 times more than a weisu that needs 75-100 solves) or with a sub 1hour mod. The so called konstamod fixes internal lock ups. The idea is to smooth certain points of the internal pieces.

Cons of weisu are the price and that its slower than a SS at any tensions.

Cons of SS is that it locks up unless you break in the **** out of it or just mod. The risk of modding is overdoing it and ruining the puzzle.

Personally I prefer speed which is why I go with SS. I have both cubes (actually 1 SS v4 modded, 1 SS v5 unmodded and 1 perfectly modded SS v5 + 1 well broken in primary plastic WeiSu).

It seems like many people have broken their PBs on a Weisu although it's slower than a SS. I think the Weisu can be sped up by changing its springs (to Dayan springs or the softer Moyu springs) but not to the SS speed. Does the SS v5 need the Florian mod btw?

I was wondering about the old Guhong V1 and how well it stacks up to cubes such as the V2 and the Zhanchi. For some reason I just don't like the V2 and I heard that the V1 was pretty good. Also could you include how the lockups are and pops.

Should I buy the Cyclone Boys 3x3 stickerless 6 pack bundle?

Is this cube Cyclone boys 3x3 worth getting .
Here are some internal pictures of the cube. I consider buying it for multi blind. I mean about 3.2 $ per cube its cheap as well as seems good.

I Need Help With My Cube Choices!

Hey guys, I am about to order a few cubes and was wondering which ones I should get-- MoYu Weisu or ShengShou v5, FangShi ShuangRen or DaYan ZhanChi and ShengShou 5x5 or V-Cube 5. If you have your own personal opinion, please post it on the thread.

Thanks!

Kind Regards

Which is the best square 1
I really want a good square 1

Mf8 v1, Mf8 v2, Calvin's Square1 or Cubetwist

I've heard that the MF8 v1 is better than the Mf8 v2 Squate-1, and the Calvin's puzzle one isn't really that great but it comes with a high price tag. Choice is mainly between the MF8 v1 and cubetwist. But I don't own a Square-1 and I just got all these info from hearsay, so don't base your choice off my opinion. I've heard that both Square-1s have popping issues though. If i'm getting one in the future, my choice will be mainly based on which one pops less, and that I will leave others to comment and decide.

Weisu, fangshi, and shengshou.
Consider Weilong, too.

Forget the Vcube 5 for starters, SS is much better.
Zhanchi or ShuangRen, it's an equal choice. Both are as fast, SR is "looser"
ShengShou V5 is faster than WeiSu, but requires a mod or extreme breaking in to be great. WeiSu still needs breaking in too.

I'd go Zhanchi, SS 5x5, SS 4x4 v5

There are maaaany more options to consider in the 3x3 market though!

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a very good 3v3 cube, preferably available from the e3cubestore, since they are doing Christmas sales at the moment. I've been using a regular store bought official rubik's cube, needless to say it locks up a lot and is not smooth at all, I've only been able to get a best solve of 55 seconds from that.

I want one that can cut corners well, turn fast and just a generally good cube that even a professional would use.

Many thanks.

The Moyu Weilong. It holds the current world record.
