Ok so my main 2x2 is a wittwo v1 that I modded very well. It's crispy/smooth ( exactly how I like it) and it never pops. Should I buy a dayan 2x2 . Also my wittwo corner cuts and reverse corner cuts amazingly!!!! Is it worth it ( the dayan)?

If your purpose in buying the cube is to get faster times, no.
However, if you want to try something with a different feel or just want it for your collection, why not.

Hi!
I currently own a GuHong v2 and it's really good and smooth. But I was wondering if I should buy a ZhanChi as well. (I have a PB of 30 and an average of 37) Should I stick with my GuHong v2 or should I buy a ZhanChi?

Thanks!

You can buy one if you want to but if you were considering it as your main cube, it depends on the type of cube you like.
Zhanchis are generally crispy and guhong v2s are very smooth. The speed of both cubes are about the same but the feel is different.

Buy one to try and you might like it.

I didn't really like the feel of my zhanchi so I use a guhong v2 as my main but that's just me. Everyone has their own preference to the type of cube they prefer.

Thanks, but I heard that ZhanChis are hard do control, is that true?

I'm looking for a 3x3x3 cube, but the information from the 3x3x3 sticky seems outdated (last update in early 2012), and upon searching around for a bit I'm getting solidly overwhelmed with the all the different types of cubes around. If anyone has a link to where I can read up on the basic terminology (like a primer or something), that would be great. If someone is willing to help out and give a recommendation based on the info below, that would be awesome.

So I'm looking for a 3x3x3 cube, mainly for two-handed speedsolving, but I like to mess around with different methods of solving the cubes and discovering algs and whatnot. I'd say I'm like a half-beginner. I am (or used to be at least) sub 1 minute easily, timed PB being 36 seconds. The cube I used was a standard Rubik's cube that I just used a lot over the course of a couple of years (got it when I was like 14). Now I'm looking for a replacement as the stickers wore off so much that I ended up pulling them off myself, and now it just kind of sits there. I have a second (also standard cube) that I use from time to time, but it doesn't cut corners very well and locks up a lot, so cubing with that isn't enjoyable.
My main cubing time is in public transit, so I'm looking for a cube with minimal popping and noise, while still being pretty speedy with a good capacity for corner cuts. I'm slightly red-green colourblind, meaning that during speedsolving I sometimes get the red-green edgepiece the wrong way around, but it's not a huge problem.

Overall I'd say I'm looking for a 3x3x3 that you recommend to post-beginners who are looking to improve their twohanded speedsolving further, as long as that cube doesn't pop too easily or makes a lot of noise.

If you're concerned about noise, the ShengShou Wind seems to be one of the quitest cubes out there, and I also believe it's good in terms of performance. Other safe bets are DaYan cubes, namely ZhanChi and GuHong v2, and the new FangShi ShuangRen also seems like a really good cube. I don't believe any of these cubes have a lot of problems with lock-ups and corner cutting, and they are all capable of very fast times.

Get a shengshou aurora if you can. It's silent and a good intermediate cube.

Get a shengshou aurora or a guhong v2. The guhong is basically silent when you turn slow and lube it.

I currently have a shengshou wind, and it is a very good cube: I was able to get a 25.81 Personal best with it. But there is one problem; lock up, lock ups, LOCK UPS. It locks up to much for comfort. Even with tensioning and lubing I still can't resolve the lock ups. So I am looking for a smooth cube that doesn't lock up. Any ideas?

Shengshour Aurora is a premodded Wind, it's basically the same thing without the lockups
