v1, but do mod it so glue the pieces together and sand them to get rid of the coffeegrinder feel.

It is more stable, more sturdy as well.

but if you want a real good 2x2, get the dayan one. I beats the v1 effortlessly.

Could anyone recommend the quietest Dayan 3x3?
I’m not that fussed about speed or corner cutting ability but it has to be Dayan.
GuHong, GuHong v2, LunHui, LingYun, LingYun v2 or Panshi
I don’t want to buy all of the above to find out; thoughts & suggestions will be much appreciated!
(P.s I already have the ZhanChi…it’s too loud for my liking.)

Try the LunHui

I'm thinking about getting a Shengshou 4x4 V IV to be used only for BLD cubing. Do people concur that this is a good BLD cube? Is it easy to spin only the inner layers, or is it better to do a double layer turn then turn the outer layer back? Can I pull inner layer only turns on it cleanly without ripping out the edge piece (especially as the cube gets older)?

Thanks for any advice!

Konsta-modding is pretty easy and a V4 with the mod never locks up. I have a florian/konsta-modded SS 4x4 v4 and I have to say the cube is amazing. For BLD I suppose there is no need for the florian mod. It doesn't pop or feel like its gonna pop during speedsolving so I don't think you'll have that problem with BLD.

I heard the V5 has some pieces modded already (probably some kind of konsta-mod) but since I havent tried it I cant really recommend it. Watch some reviews on the V5. All I can say that when modded the SS v4 is great.

I agree with Womack; the Dayan Lunhui is by far the quietest cube I have ever owned.

I have tried a lot of cubes in my search of the quietest one. I now have settled on a Plasma Guhong v2 (google it), which is the quietest cube I have ever tried. I haven't tried the LunHui though.

Hello,
So I got dayan 2x2 and received it ,played with it for like 5 minutes and then I wanted to lube the core and tension it so I took like 2 pieces out ,lubed it and then i put them back together but the cube stopped working ..I could move the upper layer at all. So , I disassembled the cube tensioned it but found out that it is possible to put it back together.I just can seem to
insert all edges in..And I know that it uses one lock mechanism, I used a tutorial but I when I finally manage to insert the first piece in , I cant insert any more edges because It will simply force the other edges out of the cube. any ideas ?

Hehe .. yeah it takes some doing. You gotta put two in and then right after that the corner, get that one that is stuck in place first and then hold it, working your way around. Might want to loosen it even more. You can see the edge pieces getting some more room then and they sit flatter.

Wait, where are edges on a 2x2?
