thx for your help, that's very helpfull :)

They both feel and perform very alike. Between the two, I prefer the ZhanChi ever so slightly. IMO, the LingYun V1 is better than both, but many people experience popping issues. I only average 31 on the 3x3x3 so I might be too slow to cause pops on mine.

What cube Should i get? Lingyun V2 or Zhanchi ?
i want that : popless and turn's well, and good cut corn also

They are both brilliant cubes, and you shouldn't be disappointed either way. If you can manage it and you didn't already, I'd recommend getting your hands on both of them and trying them out yourself, and feel which is better. They're both extremely similar, in speed, ability to cut corners, popping, etc.
I went with the Zhanchi personally, but I honestly could hardly tell the difference between the two (lol, I just went bandwagon).

V1 better ? i dont think that in mine :fp

Hey, it's just my humble opinion :p

May I inquire as to what motivated you to pull a face-palm on me? I'm not calling you out or anything, I'm just sincerely curious ;)

- is it because you know the LingYun V1 and don't like the way it performs?
- is it because you assume that the cube with the higher sequential number in a series is better than its predecessors? It's common belief (not mine), that the DaYan IV is not as good as the DaYan III / II.
- because I'm too slow to be sharing my opinion?
- because I mentioned a cube more prone to popping than the cubes you had in mind?
- Iz it coz me's blakk?

Don't worry, I don't have a LingYun but don't think you're too slow to share your opinion. As for that facepalm, just ignore it, everyone has their own opinion.

Thanks ;) At my age, you'd think I'd be more insensitive toward emoticons. There's something about the FP that unconsciously arouses anger and insecurity within me though. I need to work on that. Sorry for acting immaturely.

PS. May I address you with Sahid, or do you prefer Velji?

Mf8 all the way.

You mean the Legend? It's awesome right?

You sure? I've heard it turns good, but locks up a lot.

That is certainly true IMO, it does lock up significantly more than many of the more popular 3x3x3s, but the absolutely effortless turning on the mf8 is insane, and I still don't know how they accomplished that.

I'm not saying it's the best cube, but it does deserve praise. I think it's awesome because it has this "what if" air about it. If it wasn't so demanding in terms of accuracy, I would recommend it without reserve. If you ever get around to trying one that has been tensioned correctly, you might be pleasantly surprised by it ;)

DaYan + mf8 4x4x4, Mefferts Megaminx V1. I'll donate the extra 6 bucks.

I'm fairly happy with my SS vIII and my Megaminx, and I'm not too serious about either, but thanks for the suggestion! :D

Based on your competition history, I assume you live in New England? Well $50 could get you a Shengshou 5x5 and a LanLan 2x2 for $15 at thecubicle.us, since you have neither of those. And that would leave $35 which is enough for a SpeedStacks Pro Timer, which is 23 dollars and about 12 dollar shipping to New England.

This is assuming you want to spend all $50 on cubes :p If not, you could get just the SS 5x5, and LanLan 2x2 and have $35 left over. Just some suggestions though. Have fun with whatever cubes you get. (:

Cube for my sister.

Hi! Is there any cheap but good stickerless cube?. It is for a gift to my sister and I dont want to spend much, she is learning to solve the cube but doesn't have a good one (only have the REALLY BAD quality ones you can get in my country). I think a stickerless zhanchi is to much for her. Or maybe I can buy her one of this http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.3x3x3_DS_45mm_Magic_Intelligence_Test_Cube_White-27399, they are cheap but I don't if it is a good cube for beginner or if the stickers will peel off. Thank you very much for any advice you could give me.

Nicolas.

Any stickerless Dayan cube would probably be good, they're usually under $15, but it's up to you.

Thanks for your answer.

The problem is that $15 is expensive for me 1 U$S = 4.31 AR$ (because of devaluation in my country) so it would be a AR$65 or more cube for my sister, and I doubt she can kept interest in cubing. I was wondering if there is any stickerless cube for under $10 maybe. If not what cheap cube do you recommend? if the sticker are bad or peel off quickly I will replace them with some cubesmith stickers I have. Also it doesn't matter if it is a DIY cube or not, the one she has is a chinese copy that barely turns.

Haiyan's Haiyan or the Haiyan's Memory? Beginner here...

Hi! This is my first post on the speedsolving.com forums!

Back to the topic. I've decided to leave behind my crappy Hasbro Rubik's Cube and get myself a real speedcube. As manypeople say that Guhongs and Fengs and others are very uncontrollable for a beginner, I have decided to buy either a Memory(modified A-5) or a Haiyan (A-6).

It's not a question of which is better overall, but which is more suited to a beginner. Beginner as in "even though I have cubed for three years on and off, My PB is still 35 seconds and average is still 50ish seconds." I want the cube to be a good starting point, and to last a year or so as the shipping costs to India make prices high, and this makes it impossible to order new cubes like crazy. Corner cutting isn't a very big issue, as my Rubik's Cube can only cut 5 degrees or so, but it should be decent. I don' want the cube to pop a lot, or to have its center caps falling off and getting lost or stuff.Or the stickers to fall off or fade, like my current cube.

As I use a Rubik's cube and don't lock up, I think I'm a pretty precise turner, and some people are saying that for precise turners, the Haiyan is better. Also, the Haiyan doesn't pop as to my knowledge and doesn't have its center caps falling off, so that's another plus.

However, others say that the Memory is better, but I hear that it can pop, and that its center caps fall off. I don't want an unmanagable cube.

This is the first time I have ordered anything from speedcubeshop.com, so any other help will be appreciated. Also, does their International Economy shipping misplace items? I don't want to order a cube and then find that it doesn't come to my place at all.
