Can anyone comment on the Lubix Guhong (the normal one, not the Fusion)? I was thinking of getting a DIY Zhanchi as well as a Guhong and I was wondering how much difference the Lubix mod makes.

The 48-point edge mod (done on Ultimates) is a little sanding on some inner edges which makes it feel a little smoother, it's not a huge difference, but it feels nice. The main thing I like about buying cubes from Lubix though is that they're so nicely put together, lubed from the inside out, and tensioned to feel really good out of the box (Although I tend to prefer them a little tighter, but that's easy enough to do).
Concerning torpedoes, not that many people have issues with the GuHong popping (personally I average about once every 2000 solves), so you may not need the torpedoes. If you don't need them, then it would be better not to have the extra weight in the cube, so personally I'd recommend just buying them later if you do need them.

Ok, I'm going to get a 3x3 to donate to a library so they can have it out for people to play with it (they have just about every puzzle imaginable except for a rubik's cube). Which cube should I get? I know I'll be getting a stickerless one, since there's bound to be plenty of sticker-peelers out there. However, should I get one with or without torpedoes to stop it from popping? On one hand, if I get, say, a guhong, if it pops, people will probably freak out and think they broke it. On the other hand, if I get something like a zhanchi, some guy might come along and try to disassemble it and put it together solved, and end up breaking the cube trying to get a piece out.

Is there some way that I can decide if I want a crispy or smooth cube? I'm having a hard time deciding between getting a Guhong or a ZhanChi. I just don't know if I want smoothness or crispness.

I can't say for sure, because I don't have a zhanchi but based on ratings more people like the zhanchi.

Honestly debatable... I have both... the GuHong is smoother than the Zhanchi (which is a little more crispy).. Both are great cubes but since I got a Lubix Zhanchi, I like it better... it has better corner cutting and I'm a rough turner

Hey guys, I need a cube the size of the Alpha-v (orsmaller) but that can cut corners better, specifically reverse corners
