did you buy the traxxas 10k? If so, then that would be fine to put in the hardware
Not yet... I really am not sure about the spring noise situation... is there anybody else who has the cube that can hear spring noise on the rs3? Cuz if so, I rather refund the cube instead of buying lube for spring noise and lube for the puzzle

Is it thick? Cuz most people say I’ll need a thick lube to reduce spring noise
Thick lubes last longer and i think are more suited to the metal on plastic contact. dont use water based lubes like compound v or dnm, that will make your screws rust cuz H2O. As a general rule of thumb thick lube for the core, and any lube of your preference for the pieces. I've gotten away with using silk for my core though.

but if you don't want to spend too much money you can just get 30k and lube your cube and the springs with it

Yup, I use silk on the core too...

I had spring noise on my MF3RS3M when I had just bought it, but I lubed the springs and now it is silent

The MF3RS2 spring noise is irritating, but it's due to the fact that the puzzle comes with washers. It's the sound of metal on metal so at least you get the piece of mind of knowing that you're not damaging the puzzle's plastic with every turn as the springs drill down into the core.

The RS3 has that annoying 'whissshhhh...' sound though, unless you lube it silly. It's like a Valk Power M but much louder...

I think the "whisshh" or "sand" sound comes from the core. There's double of internal edge and corner pieces contact surface:

Is there a mid-range / premium cube that is as stable as Valk 3 but much quieter? My quiet reference cubes are the MoYu Meilong and YLM.

I use the YuXin Kylin 3x3x3 V2 M on the train to work every day specifically because after feeding it a little Silk it can be very quiet indeed. It is also quite stable. The DaYan TengYun is also meant to be very quiet but I don't have one so don't know for sure.
The stickerless caps look interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.
