Hi all, I currently average around 24~26 seconds for 3x3 and am deciding to get a new speedcube. I currently use YJ Guanlong. I like crunchy, smooth and fast cube. Is yuexiao a good choice?

I'm sure the YueXiao must be a great cube. Smooth but not super fast: Tanglong. Smooth, can be fast and very cheap (but may corner twist a little bit): Thunderclap.

EDIT1: By the way, to avoid double posting, my own question: I have a Dayan 2x2 but it's the new plastic and it's a bit bumpy and I have very tight tensions to avoid pops so even though it's very good it's not perfect. I also have a LingPo and a CB stickerless but both of them have those nasty internal catches so, not usable. For the same reason I would discard the YuPo and TangPo. So, I've heard the old Wittwo was also very good, maybe even on par with the Dayan. Was that the "Type C 2x2x2 WitTwo"? Can anybody recommend it? Thanks!

EDIT2: I was about to order a Moyu Pyraminx and I just saw a "new?" Cyclone Boys Pyraminx. Anybody new about that or has been able to test it already?

I was just about to ask the same thing bcos I wanted to get a moyu too but sice cb is making good puzzles now it could be good...

EDIT to avoid double posting: regarding new 4x4s, ppl say the qiyi storm is better than aosu and guansu is also better and meiyu sucks (but the designers said there was a mould problem). But does anyone have all these to compare and maybe we could find out which is truly the best?

So yes sorry for double posting but I'm back. So here I am again needing a suggestion (thanks for the thunderclap one i'll keep it in mind) So i'm a beginner ( kinda ) My pb is 1:03 with a nub rubiks cube brand. I average 1:20 - 1:30. I think I'm ready for a new method so I wanna get a new cube.I wanna be able to get quicker now bt not limit me when advanced. performance is important Any ideas? Im thinking Weilong(cubezz.com - 7.5$)/Weilong v2(cubezz.com - 8.15$ (which one? Also for price) Zhanchi - (cubezz.com 9.55$) Qiyi Thunderclap - (Cubicle.us - 9.00$) Aolong v2 - (cubezz.com - 10.55$) I'm leaning towards weilongs, thunderclap, and aolong v2. Please help! I would like kinda a mix between fast and smooth so controllable but fast, (corner cutting doesn't matter( cubes all have basically same ability)). Daz it xD

Hi all,

Could anyone recommend a fairly silent and smooth/fast 2x2x2 cube? All I have at my disposal right now is my Witeden Type Two C, and while it's an okay cube, I just can't tolerate its loudness and clicky-ness. Any advice will be appreciated :)

So I am fairly new to cubing and don't know what 3x3 I should by. I am thinking about getting the QiYi Thunderclap but is there any better cube under $10? Thanks for the Help

I don't think you're gonna find a better 3x3 under $10. There's fast people that think you cannot find a better 3x3, full stop. Like Chris Olson, for example.

Dayan 2x2 is arguably the best 2x2 in the market and it is also very silent so I would go for it. Sadly newer ones (manufactured later than 2014, I think) are not as smooth as old ones and the feeling is a bit more bumpy, but I think it's still your best option.

I use the Dayan 2x2 and mine pops A TON. Its really annoying for me because it happens just as soon as I think I've got a new PB. But don't get me wrong it's not a horrible cube, mine got slightly better when I lubed it with Maru but I prefer the WitEden 2x2.

I am looking for a cube that flows very smoothly (minimal lockups) while still being controllable. I currently average about 60 seconds (noob) with a YJ GuanLong

Thank you!

Good 4x4s right now?

My old Aosu is kinda dying on me unfortunately; its sluggish, locky, and worst of all, it's popping all the time.

So, I want a new 4x4. Haven't really been keeping up with 4x4 market at all, since my Aosu was so good that I didn't even consider replacing it; but now that I need to, I've got no idea what to get.

SO yeah, any 4x4 recommendations? There's been some pretty recent ones that came out based on my research (YJ GuanSu, Qiyi Storm, etc.) and online reviews have mentioned that a few are possibly better than the Aosu (although from what it looks like, the Aosu is still definitely one of the top cubes despite all this time).

anyway, point is, is there any cube that's better than the Aosu right now? Should I try switching around or just get another Aosu? It'd be awesome if you guys can recommend some good 4x4s on the market, because I'm desperately looking for one :p

Also, pretty sure this doesn't matter, but as a point of reference, I average around 50 seconds.

I've heard of CB G4 being really fast, and I've tried a Yuxin before from a friend, which was already way faster than I can control; I average around 10 seconds slower on the Yuxin.

So I'm kind of hesitant on buying really fast 4x4s, since they've proven to be not my type in the past :|

That used to happen to me as well but after tightening it a bit it has never popped again. The margin is quite narrow, though, because if you tighten it too much corner cutting suffers but there is a sweet spot where the cube does not pop and can decently corner cut.
