Yuxin 5x5 or shengshou 7x7?

That's your personal choice. How long do you want to spend solving the puzzle? It obviously takes less time to solve the 5x5 then the 7x7. Also, if you want to go to comps, it's more likely they'll have 5x5 than 7x7 (doesn't matter if you're in the US or some other place where cubing is popular). The 7x7 does look more impressive though

i am looking for a new OH main, currently i am using my gans 356 however it is too unstable, and tanglong but finding the turning and the cube itself too heavy. I am looking at the new fangshi jieyun mini, can anyone recomend this or maybe a different cube i have overlooked?

thanks

Just wondering, for someone (me) who doesn't do 5x5 very often, is getting the new Yuxin 5x5 really worth it? I have the Huachuang and I rly like it, should I try getting the YuXin?

assuming that the normal sized one has the same feel and stability, yes, I would recommend the mini jieyun, it's nice and smooth and never pops, (pain in the arse to take pieces out unless you unscrew the damn thing) it's a great new option I would say, but the mini one does not have ridges which is good cause you can get bigger stckers but you also don't get the added grip assistance that the ridges provide. it has a controllable speed depending how you lube it aswell but offers very free and fluid turning in my experience

I recently started learning new methods to solve the cube faster. Right now it takes me about 2 minutes using a beginner's method but I am working on some fingertricks and learning CFOP. I am planning to learn some other methods too, to see what suits me best. I am using some pretty old cube and I have no idea what brand it is or anything. I think the time has come to buy new cube, because the center piece caps are starting to pop too frequently and I somehow also lost one of them and it annoys me.

I really have no idea what exactly I want, because I never owned a speedcube. I am planning to use it for as long as possible, even as I get better/faster. I found some local web store that offers Dayan Guhong and Zanchi, Gans III and Moyu Aolong and Weilong. They all cost 17€ and have no shipping fee. If you would recommend buying something else, I'd be glad if you can also suggest where in Europe it can be bought, since I am not planning to spent fortune on shipping and import duties.

Or, do you think I should wait a little longer until I get better and faster?

I hope my question isn't too stupid. Thanks in advance to anybody who will take the time to help me out.

If you're looking for ONLY a fast cube, then IDK about that. But if you want a cube which is good, I recommend the Yuxin Fire. Guanlong's corner cutting is not as good as the Yuxin.

I'd like a new cube that's ok to give to inexperienced people.

However I still would like a fast cube.

Any cubes that are fast, don't have a sandy feeling and don't pop too often?

Hey, guys, so I've been out of the game for a pretty long time and I think it's time that I upgrade my hardware. Right now I have a Dayan Guhong 3x3, Shengshou 4x4 and 5x5, LanLan 2x2, and a QJ megaminx. I also have a Shengshou 7x7 and a CubeTwist (that doesn't sound like a real brand) square-1, but I'm not interested in upgrading either of those. Getting a pyraminx would be nifty. Quick edit right here: These cubes are from back in like 2011 or 2012 or something, so even if Shengshou is still a top brand or whatever, they probably have made modifications since then, so I may still consider buying a new one anyway.

If there are any versions of these cubes that have been developed in the time that I've been gone, I'd be interested in knowing. I don't even know what types of cubes are available anymore. I bought all of these maybe 4 years ago after losing possession of my old cubes (Type A 3x3 and old purple stickered Shengshou's, LOL.) Back when I bought these I kind of stayed on the cheaper end, opting for Guhong over Zhanchi, Shengshou over... I don't remember what other brands. This time around cost isn't really as big of an issue.

If someone has some suggestions, then that would be fantastic and I will love you forever. I'm not afraid of doing a little bit of research on my own to determine which cube I would like most, but right now I literally don't even know what the options are. I tried reading back through this thread a bit, but the information is not readily available. I did see a post here talking about 3x3's, so thank you very much to Ordway Persyn. So I should be fine with 3x3. But does anyone have a list of brands and models of other puzzles?

Thanks

4x4: Yuxin or Moyu Aosu
5x5: Yuxin or Cyclone boys or Moyu Huachuang
2x2: WitEden Wittwo or some other stuff (I dont do 2x2)
Mega: Dayan with ridges
Pyraminx: Moyu

3x3(that weren't mentioned in that thread): Moyu Tanglong or Gans 356

Thanks, guys. I chose the Tanglong for 3x3 and Moyu pyraminx. I wanted to justify the almost double price of Moyu Aosu over Yuxin 4x4, but I just couldn't do it. It seems like a lot of people think the difference is fairly minimal, so I just went with Yuxin. I'm just skipping on the 5, 2, and megaminx because I don't really solve them that often anyway.

Good luck on your return to cubing :D
If you ever do decide to pick up 5x5, it's the same deal as 4x4: Yuxin over Moyu (Yuxin 5x5 apparently performs better as well).
