I would want that FII :) Guhongs are smooth after a lot of breaking in and with lube. Jig-a-loo literally takes away the turning sound and makes it quite smooth but I don't recommend it applied alone....

I really don't want anything specific, but I want something new to add to my collection, which includes:
3x3
4x4
5x5
Rubik's slide
Rubik's twist
Rubik's Revolution
Rubik's 360
Pyraminx
Skewb

Oh, and it has to be less than $14. Thx!

3x3: GuHong
4x4: Shengshou
5x5: Maru (Cheaper than V-cube but still $26)
Pyraminx: QJ (stickered)
Skewb: QJ

DO NOT GET THE DIY BECAUSE IT'S TOO EASY TO SCREW UP. EVEN IF THE ASSEMBLED ONE IS OUT OF STOCK OR SOMETHING, WAITING IS NECESSARY!!!

Not necessarily. 3x3s are really easy to put together. As long as you don't force anything, you are fine. If you are having trouble, look up a tutorial on Youtube.

When I built my guhong diy, the core was messed up because even when I first screwed in the screw, it went sideways :( that was just my opinion (hope I didn't offend anyone heehee

Only the first Guhongs were tough to assemble since the core had a small hole which was very hard to screw in to. As for my comparison, mine is the smoothest I have ever tried, by far.

Right. After a good break in period (~200 plus solves?), the perfect tensions are where it's at. Just don't fiddle around with them too much, your core might "strip".

Or you might strip your screws, even worse. Which I have done...

How did you manage that? I had something similar going on with my DaYan 4x4x4, the washers crept up and partially under the spring base. The washers were grinding into the screws. Weird...replaced them with wider washers.

When I received the cube assembled the screws were just very, very tight. And my screwdriver slipped a lot, I need to get a better one... just eventually all the continued turning stripped it. Very hard to get out.

After one year of service to me, my very devoted F2 has started to decline over this month. I was thinking about getting a Lubix Ultimate GuHong. Will this be suitable for someone so used to the feel of the glorious F2?
