I forgot to say that in the order I will include a weilong v2 too. But the problem is that I had a zhanchi before (a standard uncolored/white one) which came with my friend's one. It was my first speedcube and sincerely, I really liked its feel, speed and size. I miss that feel so I want that type of cube.
I've also tried the first version of the Fansghi: I have to say that I liked it but after thousands of solves it became crunchy and bumpy. I watched some reviews of the 2nd version so maybe I'll include it in my order.

I recently ordered a weilong but there are lots of comments saying that it is uncontrollable? What are your thoughts

it is controllable. if its too fast for you get some dayan springs and put those in and it will make it easier to control.

Or just tighten or overlube it to slow it down.

Not at all...at any tension and with/without lube, I have no problem controlling it. (And I only average 20 seconds with bad turning style too!)

that might work but you will sacrifice corner cutting. with the stiffer springs you get more control and just as much corner cutting

Hey guys, I've had quite a bit of a hiatus away from speedsolving now, but I heard that there may be a competition close to me soon, so I thought I'd scrub up.
I am hoping to get your guys' opinions on what kind of upgrades I should go for cube-wise. This is currently what I'm working with:
2x2x2: LanLan (?) and something that may be a v-cube (it has kind of a ball core made from the centers/edges)
3x3x3: I have a Dayan Zhan Chi for two handed and a LunHui for one handed
4x4x4: x-cube and something that might be a Dayan + MF8 can't find good enough pics for edges/corners to correctly identify if it is it's definitely v1, no torpedos and just a 1 piece corner.
5x5x5: v-cube - definitely need a new one, this one is broken lol
6x6x6: v-cube with pi-mod
7x7x7: v-cube
square-1: no clue, but caps keep falling off >.> needs to be replaced
megaminx: MF8 v1 tiled
pyraminx: QJ edges are falling out >.>
I really like the feel of the ZhanChi but it's really showing it's age from when I originally bought it, even after cleanings and re-lubings. The x-cube pops quite a bit, I imagine it just hasn't aged well next to the new puzzles that might be out. The V-cube 5 was absolutely horrid even before it broke. I know I'm supposed to put in preferences of what I'm looking for, but I'm a bit of a clean slate and open to quite a bit of suggestion. Umm... I use lubix, I don't have any diff oil... if that matters at all?
Should I be looking at a Dayan or WitTwo 2x2, a Moyu 3x3/4x4 Shengshou 4x4x4+ or none of the above?

Right now I think the most popular 2x2s are the MoYu LingPo, Dayan 2x2, and the FangShi ShiShuang. As for 3x3 it really depends on your preference. I still use a Zhanchi as my main but a lot of people switched to the MoYu WeiLong and a few use the FangShi Shuangren V2. For 4x4 I'd recommend a MoYu AoSu. It can be a bit pricey but it's worth every penny. Anything bigger than a 4x4 I'd recommend ShengShou until the MoYu big cubes are released. Personally I use a MoYu LingPo 2x2, 55mm Dayan Zhanchi 3x3, MoYu AoSu 4x4, ShengShou 5x5, 6x6, and mini 7x7 as my mains but you should look around at other cubes and see what you like best.

I am planning on buying a Shuangren v2. I like the feel of ChiLong so any other cube that is like ChiLong?
