Hi guys! Im getting into bigger cubes as of late, but the only ones I have are a Rubiks 4x4 which was really bad and a DianSheng 5x5 which is unusable because it always breaks when i move it (might be fake)

I've already decided to buy a Shengshou 5x5 here because of the reviews (and its practically the only one they have in the Cube store here) but the 4x4 is a bit tricky. I have 3 choices, the SS, Moyu Weisu and Moyu Aosu.
Here's the deal. The Shengshou here is basicall P300 (Philippine Peso) which is about $8
The Weisu is P600 which is about $16 and the Aosu is P1000 which is $25. Is the Aosu really worth all that or will the ShengShou suffice? Thanks!

A Shengshou is totally fine if you're used to a Rubik's ^^ It locks up if you do slice moves, but that's a very "advanced" problem. The Moyus are a bit better and more expensive, but a Shengshou is also good.

What 4x4 should I get?
I want a decent priced one but turns well.

Thanks!

Shengshou v5 is cheapest, but needs a lot of breaking in and/or modding to be a great cube.

You're best off with the Moyu Weisu - it's not as good as the AoSu, but it's much cheaper and awesome. Should be able to get one very cheap from Lightake or zcube.

definitely. There is not too much difference of the AoSu and the WeiSu, but the WeiSu is much cheaper. Check out my review of the MoYu WeiSu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkT1JqkXx_w&list=UUbQRlAVd6zJ8VWtryLqQynQ&feature=share

Thank you for solving my problem. My average timing is around 1 minute with the beginners method. Also some people say that the Moyu Weilong V2 is a really good and fast cube while Shengshou Aurora is really smooth. So if my control over the cube gets better,is Moyu Weilong worth going for?

ive been reading some of your conversatuons, if you want to get a weilong get it but buy a set of Dayan springs, thats what i did and it really changes it into a whole differnt cube, its easier to control and doesnt lose anything that the Weilong is known for.

Moyu Weilong / Fangshi Shuang Ren?

Hello,

I have about a sub-35 and I am getting a new cube. I currently have a guhong v1 which pops every other solve. I am thinking about the fangshi shuang ren v2 or moyu weilong v2. Ive heard that the moyu weilong is uncontrollable and Fangshi seems to be good only after lube and not out of the box so I'm wondering what you guys think. (Please vote in the poll.)

Thanks

Anyone have an opinion in the 54.5mm weilong stickerless?

I like my 55mm zhanchi, and love my weilong v1s, so surely I can't go far wrong?
Lubix weilong v1 or v2?
It is preferred that those people give suggestions who have used atleast 1 of these.

Depends on price difference. The physical difference between the two cubes is marginal, so if v1 is significantly cheaper, go with v1.

Lubix are expensive - you could just but a cube from another store and some lube and save yourself some money!

stick with ur guhong and either tension it better or adjust your turning style. I started off with a stickerless guhong and now I don't pop any cube no matter how loose. If you want it to preform better mod it, but if you really want a new cube the fangshi does have a smooth ness to it that I quite like and will not pop for the most part

Questions about Aosu and Weisu

well, I'm thinking of buying a aosu.
but, I've heard some sayings that aosu cores are so bad
that the screws are sometimes untightned while solving.

so, I have two questions.

1. does weisu core fit aosu??

2. is there any solution for aosu core/screws being untightned by itself??

I had no problems as far as I know with my AoSu's core and I have done over 500 solves on it.

Well im stuck between the Weisu and the ShengShou. I dont know how to mod nor do i have the time to, so is the Weisu really that much better than a ShengShou?

Also 2x2a LingPo, ShiShuang or ZhanChi? Might just use the extra $8 from buying a Shengshou instead of a Weisu into buying a 2x2

I am thinking about getting 4x4 which I will use for 4BLD.
Which is more stable: Weisu or Aosu?
For BLD events I want quite fast, but smooth and stable cube. For standard cubing I use Weilong but for 3BLD I use Guhong.

I haven't heard about aosu cores being bad, but if you had to replace the core, I think the weisu core would fit, but don't quote me on that, as I don't personally own an aosu. I think that the only differences between the cubes are the pieces, but once more, I could be wrong...
