What exactly is the difference between the WeiLong v1 and v2?

By all accounts, not much!

Corners are made of 3 pieces of plastic, to allow them to make a stickerless version. I'm not sure how this impacts on performance.

Also, there's a 54.6mm in the V2, while V1 is ~57mm only.

Which one do you prefer? It'd would be great if you can compare the two ~57 mm ones, and is the performance as good on the 54.6 mm?

Need help buying first "good" cube

Im looking at the Dayan 5 Zanchi Stickerless and the Dayan GuHung 2 Plus Stickerless. Both are speedcubes. I can only afford one and im wondering which I should get. Thanks.

Both are good cubes, and which is better is personal preference. The only way you'll know which one you like better is to try both of them. For now, just choose whichever is cheapest. I would like to inform you that often the quality of a cube varies even if you are talking about the same cube. I would also like to inform you that stickerless puzzles are not legal for competitions. Just some things to consider.

Happy cubing and welcome to speedsolving forum! :)

Thanks for the info. Just for the record, im not looking at competitions. I just started learning this week(I can only solve 2 layers & cross for 3rd layer) but I want a faster cube since my Rubik's brand cube can barely cut corners so its frustrating and it is very slow even when I lubed it.

As Elrog said, it is a preference. If you care about statistics, the Zhanchi is more popular and more people would argue it's "better". I have a zhanchi and a Guhong v1 and v2 and I prefer my Zhanchi, HOWEVER, before I lost my old Guhong v2, I prefered that.

One thing that's worth mentioning is that the Weilong seems to be the only cube that comes with really good stickers, as far as the colors. This seems like a major selling point for someone who is buying his or her first speed cube and doesn't want to get into restickering and stuff. :-)

Also YJ's other recent cubes (Sulong & Chilong)

Sulong is fantastic, pretty crunchy but not extremely so. Chilong I don't have but I think it's slightly faster and a higher crunchy bordering on crispy. Both not as fast as a Weilong, but very controllable, and at around Zhanchi speeds.

New to speedcubing - which cube is good?

hey, I'm relatively new to speedcubing
only got serious about it 1-2 months ago
My pb is 29.54 sec and i average around 40 secs
I use fridrich
I know full PLL and 2 look OLL

The only "speed" cube I have is a Rubik's Speedcube
it's pretty good but locks up because of the centerplate

Anyway, I'm wanting to get a new speedcube or cubes
but there are so many options...

I was thinking maybe a shengshou aurora or a maru cx3
But there are so many other cubes I just have no idea which one
would be good for me

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

What type of cube do you think you would like? Do you want a fast/slow cube? Do you want a smooth/crispy/crunchy/bubbly cube? Do you have any preferences. If you let us know what you're looking for in general terms, we can help choose a specific cube for you.

Hi, with so many cubes recently released, I would like to know which cube I should get that suits me best. I personally use roux for most solving. I like the feel of the A5, the crunchiness especially. My current main is the Zhanchi, and I'm also alright for the crunchy-smooth mix of it. My top priority is popping. The cube must not pop under decent (not too tight or loose) tensions. Next comes locking. If the cube has to be tightened to prevent pops, then it must not lock up. My preferred speed is that of a tight Zhanchi (a little slower yet not too slow). I have lube so I can easily overlube the puzzle is needed, so overly fast speed is not an issue. The perfect cube for me would be one that is crunchy on the outer layers, smooth on the M slices, but does not pop or lockup (or something like an A5 without the popping issue and not too old of a cube model). Thanks.

The problem is I don't know what kind of cube I like or dislike.
i don't want a slow cube, however I don't want a cube that is too fast
Smooth is good, however i have no idea how crispy, bubbly, or crunchy feels
i only have original rubik's brand and a rubik's speedcube

Weilong is awesome on M turns, unpoppable on any sensible tension, and uber-smooth... But perhaps a bit fast if you like a tight zhanchi.

Consider Chilong, Sulong, or Shengshou aurora, if you're looking for something more controllable.

Some would.also say fangshi V2, but I'm not a fan personally.

If you want a smooth cube, the Fangshi, CX3, Sulong, Chilong, and Huanying out of the picture. They're quite crunchy.
If you want a medium speed, I wouldn't go with the Weilong. It's quite fast.

I would suggest the Shengshou Aurora. It's decently fast, pretty smooth, and good for beginners.
