@Lchu, For the whole thing. Also, that one hasn't hit Amazon yet :(. I'm fine with a decent cube, and the YJ seemed good for the price.

@Everyone Else, So, basically the ShengShou is a good Megaminx comparable to the DaYan? And also, What is the feel of the SS?

Moyu Weilong vs Dayan Zhanchi?

Hey everyone!

Sorry I'm new and I need some general informations.. :P
I heard that there's a new cube named "Moyu Weilong" who's doing competition with the Dayan Zhanchi.
So for my birthday, my parents said that they'll buy meone cube...but I don't know what to take...a Zhanchi or a Weilong?
I want a cube with a good corner cut, no pops, smooth ans no lock ups. :D

Please help me! Thanks :)
PS: Sorry for my bad english :P

Is the Maru Cx3 your main speedcube?? Because many people told me that the Maru Cx3 wasn't a good choice :/
However I'm interested :)

Seriously?
CX3 & Weilong are on the same tier. I would say both are better than a Zhanchi but that's just my opinion.
As a beginner I think CX3 would be the best our of the since it's more controllable, you could also get a "beginner" cube like, say, the ShengShou Wind, to train a more accurate turning style, but I think going straight to a better cube is fine. Just my 2 cents.

Corner cutting and smoothness is similar on the Zhanchi and Weilong, but the Weilong NEVER pops. I don't even think it's possible. I must have done a few thousand solves on mine, and it's never popped once. It's also more forgiving, and so locks up slightly less, especially on the last layer. BUT, as Lchu says, it's very uncontrollable.

As a result of the uncontrollableness I'd agree with Lchu - either Weilong (fast, but less controllable) or CX3 (possibly a little slower(?), but more controllable). Remember if you over-lube a Weilong, it does become more controllable. The choice between these two is very much down to personal preference, so maybe go on YouTube and watch some reviews of these two cubes to help you decide between them.

What do you use at the moment?

What cube to get?

I have got money to buy only one cube, so please tell me which one to buy - Dayan Guhong v2, Fangshi Shuang Ren v2 or the Moyu Weilong? Also, please tell me the pros and cons of each.

It's between a weilong and a fangshi basically. Honestly, they're both really good. Ignore anyone who automatically says to buy one or the other, they are equal. If you want super super fast, get a weilong. If you want controllable fast, get a fangshi.

IMO, all the good new cubes are good enough to get you sub-10. They all have pop resistance, more than enough corner cutting, and are fast. The biggest difference is the feel. For that, either you have to try one that someone else has or buy them to try them. Some cubes may fit certain turning styles better but again, you mostly just have to try it to know.

Edit: If you must have some pros and cons to help your decision here is my experience:
WL 0 pops, SR 1 pop, GH (I have v1... v2 has torpedoes but on my v1 I have occasional pops, like 1 every few hundred solves. My tensions are slightly tight.)
Maintenance: I would say GH requires more lubing than WL or SR. WL and SR mainly need lube in core. SR surfaces don't really need any lube and will eat up Lubix because it's textured. Lube can have good effect on WL but it doesn't require too much maintenance.
Speed: WL fastest

All these three (bear in mind I have SRv1 and GHv1) are my main practice cubes. I rotate between them and they all offer something different so whatever choice you go with will be fine.

Okay, I just need 2 Things to decide, and my Cube Buying decision is finalized.

2 x 2: Wittwo Type C v1 vs DaYan ZhanChi 2 x 2
3 x 3: ShengShou Aurora vs YJ SuLong

Thanks to everyone that commented and gave me suggestions!

I have the wittwo v1 and it is awesome. I really love the crunchy feeling on a small cube like a 2x2. The Dayan performs just as well, but it has the feel of a zhanchi. I love the zhanchi feel too, but this crunchiness is just awesome on this cube. It is fairly loud though.

I have neither of those 3x3s (both ordered though), but I'd recommend the Aurora. The SuLong is a new concept that has yet to be proven great, where as the Aurora is loved by many already. The Aurora is an awesome beginners/intermediates cube. It will be great all the way to times like sub 15.
