Hi, haven't returned to this forum for years...

I need 2 new cubes (3x3)

1. Used to use a Type D with Type A core, really smooth but locks up a lot. A cube I am looking for is a 3x3 that has the smoothness of the Type D, but with better corner cutting and minimal lockups, and also best if it does not pop a lot. I wonder if the Dayan, and which one, will fit the bill (they don't exist when I was active back then)
2. For OH used to use a Type E-II, which is really light but locks up a lot, so I am looking for a cube similar to the one above, but lighter in weight

And if there are still Singaporean cubers out there, please guide me on where to get them at low prices in Singapore.

Thanks.

I'm one of the "newer" cubers (started speedcubing around the end of 2010) so I never really had/felt a type D but from the descriptions, it sounds like you should try the regular size fangshi shuangren and/or guhong v2 for #1 and a 54.6mm fangshi shuangren, 55mm zhanchi, or 50mm zhanchi for #2 (assuming you want to keep the approximate cube size of the type E-II).

It's worth checking out the normal size zhanchi too. It's basically a combination of smooth and clicky/crispy.
and the WeiLong is basically a smoother and faster AV (assuming those were out at the time)

But seriously basically any of the cubes that are used right now are going to have insane corner cutting (45 degrees normal corner cutting and 1/3 to 1/2 a cubie reverse corner cutting minimum) and have a lot of different feels (any combination of smooth/clicky/crispy/crunchy/etc) depending on your preference.

IMO fangshi shuangren feels light and dayans feel a little heavier (especially the lunhui).

1. I don't know anything about older cubes(started in late 2011), but the smoother cubes of today are the Guhong v2, Shengshou Aurora, and the Dayan Lunhui(which is less used, but incredibly quiet and smooth).

So I finally got back into cubing and just found out about these new cubes. I am not sure whether to get the fangshi shuangren, the moyu weilong, or the moyu huanying. I heard the weilong is supposed to be a better version or something of the huanying but im not too sure and what are the differences? Also is there any difference between the 54.6 and 57 mm shuangrens?
I dont mind loud cubes, and i love both smooth and crispy cubes, but I barely prefer crispy...kind of. So which cube should I get?
Thanks

57mm is standard, 54.6 for smaller hands or OH. Based on what I hear they're all great cubes. The Weilong is supposed to be lightly crispy and extremely fast, the Huanying is very loud and crunchy and about standard speed. I have the Fangshi, it's about the same speed as a Zhanchi but maybe a bit faster, if you don't have a Zhanchi it's just pretty fast. It's pretty crunchy and corner-cuts very easily, and has a very "flexible" feeling. I hear the Weilong has this too.

basically what Lchu613 said but I'm going to give my opinions on weilong vs huanying vs fangshi

~Weilong feels like a faster slightly smoother alpha 5 (or basically a mix of the zhanchi and fangshi) and can be uncontrollable. It is a very light/airy cube and super fast even on tight tensions. You can purposely over lube it to make it more controllable (it makes the cube a lot better) and quieter. It's kind of loud but it's basically the same loudness as a zhanchi. At the tensions I have mine set at, it feels very loose but it hasn't popped on me at all. It can corner cut ~50 degrees and reverse cut over half a cubie.
~Huanying IMO feels really cheap (don't know if it's just me but to me, it feels like a dollar store cube that turns well and corner cuts well) but it's more controllable and it's very loud and crunchy feeling.
~Fangshi is also pretty controllable and feels kind of crunchy. It has kind of a hollow sound and feels kind of scratchy at first but feels a lot better after it's broken in. The only thing is depending on your turning style, you could get lots of corner twists. I don't seem to have this problem (other than once every ~200 solves and when I'm doing random OH solves with it for fun). I think it kind of feels like a new wittwo with the scratchy feeling.

I don't think this made your decision any easier but basically IMO you should get the weilong if you want a super fast cube and fangshi if you want a more controllable cube. They both have a mix of smooth and crispy (but weilong is more crispy).

Which cube is better?

Which cube is better :
1. Fangshi Shaung Ren (54.6mm)
2. Alpha CC
3. Fangshi Shaung Ren (57mm)

Thank you very much this did help me alot :)
Thank you to Lchu613 as well :)

But what is the difference between a crispy and crunchy feel? And I remember seeing a video somewhere about how the 54.6 mm fangshi has slightly different pieces than the regular fangshi, which makes it a bit better. Is this true?

Why is the alpha cc in there?

IDK. I just put it there because I like its looks and unique pieces. Some people say that the alpha cc is pretty good after you get used to it.

Why talk about only three cubes? Why not look at other top-notch 3x3s, such as the Dayan Guhong, Dayan Zhanchi, Shengshou Aurora, MoYu Huanying, or MoYu Weilong?

I already know about these cubes that is why I didn't mention it here. Or else I would have definetely mentioned it.
