My friend just learned how to solve the cube with basic beginner method using my cube. He is solving about 6 minutes and wants to get that down to 1:20 BEFORE learning fridrich or Roux or Petris methods. He wiuld enjoy a cube that can get him to 1:20 and will be good all the way to 30

any cube. by the time he works his way down to 1:20 (if he doesnt lube a storebought) from 6 minutes, he will have a nice broken in storebought by the time he is at 1:20.. with lubing and a method other than beginners, he would easily be able to break 30 sec with a nice broken in, lubed storebought. if he is looking for a decent speedcube, just go with one of the popular ones like dayan lingyun v2, zhanchi, guhong or even some of the nice older 'classics' like an a5 or something

Shengshou 4x4 v4 vs MF8+DaYan 4x4

I want a 4x4 cube, and ive gotten down to these two cubes. The shengshou 4x4 v4 and the MF8+DaYan 4x4. Now which one do you guys think is better, or you can even tell me if you think another cube is better than both of these. If so can you all plz help me out with this problem.

And if you all happen to have a video comparison that would also be appreciated. Thank you.

Both take time to tension just right and they both have different feelings. Th dayan is smooth and the shengshou is crisp. And the dayan is 3mm bigger so it all comes down to personal preference. Also this should be posted in the puzzle choice thread.

A good Magic. Idk anything about magics, but i thought they were cool and wanted one. what's a good one?

LingAo or Ghosthand Magics, they're good, oh and don't forget to buy extra strings incase you lost them or break them, (Ghosthand magic ships with 1 extra string included!)

Puzzle(s) with cost between $25 and $45

For a holiday gift my grandparents have decided to get me a present, of my choosing, that the cost is between $25 and $45. I was thinking a twisty puzzle, but with so many out there I wonder wich to choose. I currently all the rubik's brand cubes (3x3-5x5) and the V-cube 6, a megaminx, and a pyraminxs. I was thinking the V-cube 7 might be good, seeing as I would be able to solve it. Or maybe a cuboid of same sort. What do you think I should get keeping in mind the price limit?

Just one thing, or $45 worth of cubes?
I'd get a real speedcube, perhaps a zhanchi or guhong. If it's just one thing, then I'd order it from lubix. I'd reccommend a shengshou 7x7 over a v-cube 7 as well. You could order a non-lubix speedcube and a shengshou 7x7 for less than $45 (I'd reccommend icubemart or speedcubeshop based on your location).

im not going to mod my cubes in anyway

From what I have heard, I think SS 4x4 v3 is better than both of these, but only if you're willing to do Konsta + Florian mods to it.

i dont wanna mod it any anyway

With my SS I rarely got any pops it 99.98% popless unless you loosen the screws.
