Hi there,

I am coming from a long break, and would like to get back into cubing. I would like to buy a new cube from lightake.com, aiming for a ZhanChi, but there seem to be several versions, which one should I get?

Get the 55mm one and i will not reccomend lightake as their prices are high and the shipping is extremely slow.

What alternative shops would you suggest? I am living in Germany, so shipping can be quiet expensive from the US.

The 55mm fits my fingers slightly better than the standard (57mm) one. The 57mm is more populat but it seems that a lot of people who've tried the 55mm prefer it.

I'd get the v1, the v2 has that ball core which can be a gamble sometimes

And is the Calvin Square-1 the mf8 v1?

There's C4U, Alpha, Type F, Type C, Dayan, Maru, and some others that you'll like the dayan is really good. If your currant times are above 1 min then get something like a Maru or C4U until you get time around 45 sec then get a Dayan.

Which Lubix Cube Should I get?

Okay, so I'm getting a rubiks cube for my birthday but I'm stuck in a dilemma.
I need to decide between the lubix ultimate guhong v2 and the lubix zhanchi.
PS: My current main is a stickerless guhong v1 that is lubricated with vaseline. (I know its a bad thing to do. That's why I'm getting a new one.)

What you should keep in mind:
-the cube pops quite a bit.
-I really like the clicky feel.
-It occasionally locks up.
-I have pretty inaccurate turning.
-I like a fast cube.
So which cube would fit my style better? The lubix ultimate zhanchi or the lubix ultimate guhong v2.

Please do not reply a certain cube just because you have it. I'd rather have someone that has both cubes.

Also, should I get white, stickerless, or black? Does the white lubix zhanchi/guhong v2 have black as the regular white and is the orange side purple instead?

Pleaseee be detailed! I'd really appreciate it. I know I asked a lot of things here, but if you could answer them all, I'd find that helpful. Thanks in advance!

I average 55 seconds on 5 solves.

Some people might not agree with this but I would go for something slower maybe a Lunhui. I was getting 19 second averages with one, I was averaging 30ish with a Rubik's brand before I got my first speed cube. but between those 2 cubes you listed I would go for the Zhanchi because you said you like clicky cubes, but the Lunhui will get you further in the long run. Hope this answered your question.

Well, I think I'm actually pretty fast after I'm warmed up. Most of my time is looking at the cube to see what to do because I truly fail at look ahead. So would you recommend a zhanchi? You are referring to a lubix ultimate zhanchi correct?

55 seconds isn't that fast at all but go ahead and buy which ever one you want. I personally would buy a DIY Zhanchi mod it and lube it myself. It's cheaper and when it comes to doing other mods on big cubes you'll have some experience.
