I'm thinking of getting my first speed cube. I average 18 with roux. Please could someone recommend me a good speed cube? However the problem is that it's not so simple...
-I can only order from the uk.
-Ive heard PUZL has fast delivery- and it's the only uk puzzle website I can think of but which is the best out of theirs?
-Ebay is a no-no.
-I couldn't find anything good on amazon.
-I have a fast but controlled turning style. I turn pretty accurately, but I'd like good corner cutting and speed.
-If you can think of any other option than puzl please tell me.

Sorry to sound so fussy... It's just the situation I'm in...
If you are going to tell me off for being such a nagging selfish guy , please just ignore this post.

The DIY type-C's from Puzl are good, but they're the only real speedcubes that they sell.

K thx I might get that tomorrow... But let's see if anyone suggests anything else...
What do you mean by 'only real speed cube they sell'? Are all the others fakes or something?

Sup. The only real restraint I would give you for what cube you'll want is you want it to have rounded pieces. It's the major difference between new and old cubes like the Old Type A "Alpha" and the Cubeforyou Cube. It gives them the ability to reverse corner cut which cubes with perfectly square pieces can't do. From the sounds of it I turn pretty similar to your style and I love my Guhong. It's a very popular cube and I have mine set fairly tight and it still cuts ~ 30-35 degrees. A little less than half a piece reverse. It pretty much never pops and it's incredibly fast. Minimal lock ups as well.

Hello again! I would love to have a guhong but as I said I can only order from the uk :(
This is what I meant by 'the problem'...
But yeah the rounded pieces is important. Which is why I need someone to recommend a cube to me.

Ouch. Looking at the titles of the cubes I can see what Maelstrom meant. None of them really look like Type X speedcubes but kind of no name most likely not so great cubes. I never did try the Type C either but if it turns out it's pretty much all you can get it's still a massive improvement over a storebought. It could help you until the opportunity for you to order somewhere else arrived?

Yeah, it's annoying. Basically the only opportunity is asking one of my friends, but only two of them cube, and one of them is in the same situation as me (except that I'm faster than him and that I'm teaching him roux), and the other refused to get it for me (he likes annoying me sometimes but I guess it's not his fault). This is a tough situation... I'll probably go ahead and get the type c if there's nothing else to get.

Before I left there were a few people that swore by the Type C. The times you've gotten to (especially with Roux!) on a storebought are pretty impressive. I'd like to see what you can do on a decent cube.

Edit: I don't personally know anything about the Haiyan but I would get it over the C just based on the rounded pieces alone. I'd ask around a bit first and if you get any kind of positive response I'd go for it.

Thanks- I'm probably going to get a type c then. Then I'm gonna shoot for sub-15! Any more cube suggestions are welcome as long as they're from the uk!

Agh! I feel really sorry for you been unable to buy from abroad, and really impressed with with how fast you got at Roux on a storebought. What the hell, tell you what, if you want I could sell you a Lubix LunHui which I got the other day but only did like 12 solves. So its as good as new, and is a brilliant cube. I cant use it as I have woosy wrists and its a little heavier than my GuHong. But it M turns like a dream. I'm pressuming you cant use paypal, but how about if I just send it to you and when you get it just post me a £10 note wrapped in paper in an envelope. Look up the LunHui to see if it sounds good to you and let me know what you think. I could post it on monday.

The only cube I know how to solve is the 3x3, and I would like to get a new type. (not 3x3) I'm most likely going to get a 2x2, but I was wondering what would be a fun, but not too hard challenge is.

Well im going to ask puzl about their cubes tomorrow (sending emails to them doesn't seem to work for me now...), because although the way you suggested would work, I am just a teenager with overprotective parents (good thing sometimes I guess) which means they'll probably refuse unfortunately. But it's worth a shot! But it'd almost midnight already, about time I went to bed... Thanks for your help either way!
