The Thunderclap V2 is probably the best 3x3 under $10 in my opinion.

Now, a change of topic... Yesterday, I ordered a Shengshou 4x4 (probably this one: https://thecubicle.us/shengshou-p-36.html). Was this a good choice?

It doesn't perform very well in my opinion. It would be good to train yourself to turn more accurately, though. I mean, you already bought it. So my opinion doesn't matter. I recommend getting the YuXin Blue and being very careful with how you set it up. It's delicate

Well, I wasn't looking for a 'great' 4x4... I only wanted one that was inexpensive, yet good enough for general practice. I'm not very good at solving a 4x4, so I'll have no need of an 'outstanding' 4x4 till I gather some more experience. Thus, I came to the conclusion, that the Shengshou 4x4 would be the best for me, after searching through a variety of 4x4 cubes.

Guansu, or cyclone boys G4. G4 was my main for a long time before I got the Yuxin blue

I want a cube which satisfies the following conditions:
  • It should be smooth. Not necessarily 'fast', but smooth; that is, it should have smooth turning.
  • It should have good enough corner cutting
  • It shouldn't pop easily.
  • It shouldn't lock up too often.
  • It should be available within or around $10 (USD).
I've been keeping an eye on the QiYi Thunderclap for a while now, and it seems to suit me well. I've been told that the Gans 356 air is a good choice too. Can anyone please help me decide?
The Thunderclap fits that pretty well once lubed, it is on the faster side however, but if it isn't set up it's like a guanlong, if you aren't comfortable setting up cubes the cubicle thunderclap is just $18USD pretty cheap for a premium cube... The Yuxin 3x3 is also under $10 (not the fire or water the original yuxin) It's not the smoothest cube in the world but it's somewhat smooth and good even without a set-up (this was also the cube used by collin burns in his 5.25 world record).

Heyooooo

I love 3x3, been doing it for a while. Just got a 4x4 but it seems kinda boring to be totally honest, like compared to the 3x3, just seems a little repettitive

So my question is for a I guess intermediate cuber like me, what in your guys opinion is the best WCA puzzle that is like really fun, something you would want to pick up constantly. Would this be the Pyraminx, Square-1, or Skewb. If someone could maybe give the pros and cons of each one, and some cool and fun things about them.

Thanks in advance ~LRXC
i mean, if you really feel that way lol. I suggest Megaminx. Its like a super 3x3 with 2 F2L stages and LL stage. My preference in events I do is Mega > 4x4 > 3x3 > 5x5.

hi guys, so recently I've been trying out 5x5 and ave abt 2.30 mins, but after abt 10 solves my fingers start to sore, is this normal? my cube is the moyu bochuang gt 5x5 if that helps, should I stick with it or change to other 5x5s like weichuang or qiyi wushuang? thanks in advance! :)
Wushuang is overrated (outer layers slower than inners, causes misalignment in 3x3 stage often when turning outer layers as it takes the inner layers as well)
Weichuang way to flexy

If your finger soreness is really an issue, get the yuxin. its slightly faster. But I don't think changing a 5x5 cube is worth it for you TBH. if it means anything my main is the yuxin

Can anyone please help me out with this
I average about 13 sec and i want to shift my main from aolong v2 to guoguan yuexiao or weilong gts
I m confused which one shud i buy
Yuexiao is nice but gts is better but according to the reviews on youtube, gts is pretty uncontrolable and needs to b slow down with lube but i dont hav those lubes
If i buy gts and if i m not able to control it,it will increase my times or will slow down me but if i buy yuexiao and then find that gts was better then i would hav to regret
This is really very confusing gts or yuexiao
Please help me out with this..!!

Why is GTS better, faster maybe, better? It depends what you prefer, yuexiao is extremely good cube, Gts is harder to control. Valk is really fast, too fast for many people. If you are tying to find some cube with all of the qualities: speed, control, no lockups...by my opinion, if setup correctly, yuexiao and gans air are the closest. But all these cubes are so good, you can take anyone and just get used to it.

Yuexiao pros:
1. The Yuexiao has outside edges that are shaper, whereas the GTS has more rounded sides. The Yuexiao is easier to hold.
2. The Yuexiao is more stable.
3. The GTS corner caps come off sometimes. It can be a pain.
4. Because the GTS corners and edges consist of a single cap, you can't get the GTS in stickerless.
5. The Yuexiao plastic is harder, so the pieces slide against each other easier.
6. The GTS overshoots for me. And the Yuexiao hardly ever overshoots for me (probably because it's my main and I'm used to it)

GTS pros:
1. The GTS corner cuts slightly better.
2. The GTS catches slightly less often.
3. The GTS has more grooves in the corner pieces so it slides on the other pieces a little better. Maybe this is why some people say it's faster.

Get a regular Yuexiao or a magnetic GTS.

Hope this helps.

A couple questions:
I hear a lot of 3x3s described as fast, but very few described as slow other than in a negative way. I'm primarily a big cube solver and as a result I'm used to higher turning resistance and a crunchy feel. Could I get a recommendation for a 3x3 that's on the slower side and is crunchy, but that's still a top of the line cube? I'd be happy to hear from multiple people on this since it's so rarely discussed for 3x3.

I would appreciate recommendations for slower, crunchier top 4x4s as well as a quick rundown of pros/cons of several of the current most popular/best 4x4s.

In both cases, I don't want to sacrifice performance for feel. I'd rather have the best cube that has even a hint of crunch to it than a mediocre cube with a feel I like. Thanks all.

I think a Moyu Tanglong may suit you with crunchy, a bit solid feel. It's speed is not too fast and it's corner cutting is good, too.

Problem with Tanglong is that after some thousands of solves (not many) out of the box the cube becomes sluggish and after cleaning and lubing it never comes back to out-of-box glory. Mine just lasted 3-4 months. Other people have shared the same issues.
