Can anyone suggest a cube for me? I like medium fast cubes that are VERY VERY smooth, yet are controllable. Currently my guhong v2 sucks some serious crap ( really loud and clicky and not smooth at all) is anyone has some suggestions please let me know. Cubes I have: zhanchi silk by the cubicle( yes it's to clicky for me and bumpy smooth which I don't like) fangshi, weilong.

Lube your weilong with weight 3 assorted from the cubicle. Don't overlube. It will be very controllable, and VERY smooth and quiet.

I don't get it, my weilong is far from quiet, unless I turn REALLY accurately. If you want a smooth, quiet cube, CPM a Zhanchi. I've tried all of the recent new cubes, and none compare to a well modded, well lubed zhanchi, imho.

Also try Aurora.

I would have suggested Guhong v2 from your requirements. Have you tried relubing your Guhong?

Thank you for this. But it ended up having a pin in it. So I'm assuming it is a V3. I think im going to try the consta/florian mod on it. But I probably will not have a good 4x4 until the JiGuong SS series comes out.

I would recommend getting a Guhong v2 or Zhanchi and lubing it yourself. If you really, really don't want to, it depends on what type of cube you want. Fusion is smoother and more controllable, and the Zhanchi is faster and clickier. At looser tensions I find that a Guhong (Fusion) pops less, but with good tensioning neither pops. Really though, there's no need to get a Lubix Fusion when you can get a Lubix Guhong v2 for a lower price if that's what you want, they're pretty much the same thing.

Personally I like faster cubes, so I would go for Lubix Zhanchi if those were my only choices.

I've been using a lubed Rubik's 4x4 since I learned how to do it. I am now sick of it because, well, it's a Rubik's 4x4. What should i get now? I was thinking of the Shengshou 4x4 V5. Tell me if I should steer in another direction.

Has anyone heard anything about the camcuber guhong v2? If you have how does it compare to to the cam cuber zhanchi

As Lchu613 answered to the earlier question, you too, should buy a cube and lube it yourself. For the price of a camcuber zhanchi/guhong V2 you can get zhanchis/guhongs v2.

It is true that the guhong has been modded, but replicating this mod does not take more than an hour or 2 with a simple nail file. Youtube is also full of tutorials on how to do it. Also the mod does not do much to the cube. If I were you and had 40 dollars to spare on a 3x3 I'd buy 30k Weight differential oil and 50k differential oil and mix them (50% ratios) to make a lubed that will work great and then just buy the puzzle. You will save 20 bucks. If you were prepared to spend those 40 dollars I'd buy the lubricant, wait for the Maru CX3 to come out and buy that and buy a ShengShou Aurora + maybe even a MoYu WeiLong. You'd get basically 3 cubes + lube to last for an eternity for pretty much the same price. Or you could drop out one cube out of that bunch and buy 4-6 sets of custom colour stickers that you like best from thecubicle.us for example.

However the Camcuber Guhong V2 is probably just a 48P modded Guhong that is lubed with differential oil, much like the camcuber zhanchi is just a modded and lubed zhanchi.

Buying modded 3x3's is definitely not worth it. It only affects how the cube feels and it is often very easily reproducible by anyone.

And just to confirm the above 4x4 question;

Yeah, ShengShou 4x4 v5 is currently the best 4x4 out of the box and with a very simple mod (konsta mod) it is close to being the absolute best cube in the market.
