My advice if you can wait is to just wait. More reviews on the two new cubes out there (Shuang Ren and Huan Ying) with substance and comparison with current cubes need to be put out. And people still need to play with lubing, tensioning, etc. If you can't wait and Shuang Ren or Guhong V1 are your only two choices then I'd go with the proven and known Guhong V1.

Hello ,

I have this problem, one of my center caps(orange) on my zhanchi 57 mm keeps loosening its tension without me interfering. For example, I tension it and keep it medium tight and after 5-10 solves I can see that the tension on the orange side is back to very loose and because of this I get pop all the time. Can you help me solve this problem please?

If you have another zhanchi, just swap that screw with a screw from the other zhanchi.

I want a cube that is fast, doesn't lock up, cuts great corners and has torpedoes. I have considered the Dayan zhanchi and guhong v2. Is there any other better option? Also I need a 2x2 of the same requirements. Any help

i used a guhong v1 -> zhanchi -> panshi
i'm not sure if it's because my zhanchi is old, but i really prefer the panshi over the zhanchi even though it hasn't been modded.
i never really liked the guhong, which is odd because my style isn't fast turning. but anyway, find a review on the panshi and maybe you'll like that one too.
in my experience
- it's more controllable than the zhanchi
- cannot cut 45 degrees like the zhanchi, but can cut smaller amounts with less resistance = more useful cutting

the core is a bit different in a panshi compared to guhong/zhanchi, idk what difference it makes but some reviewer must know.

Cores are sold individually, or with the other hardware like screws and such. zcube.cn sells cores and such, hknowstore does as well, just contact them so they can send you the right one. :)

And no this does not happen with every cube, but sometimes you just run into some bad luck.

That is what you want to do. Basically all you need is replace the core, but DO look at the screw, if there is something up with that, then that maybe needs replacing as well.

Those sets aren't that expensive :)

Competition Standard 4x4x4 and 5x5x5

Hello,
I'm looking for a decent 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 cube.
I'm not planning on speedsolving it right now, but I might in the future so I want something decent.
So I was looking on puzl.co.uk and i've found 2 candidates for each (5x5x5 and 4x4x4).
For the 4x4x4 I found the Dayan-mf8 and the "competition standard 4x4x4" as they call it.
For the 5x5x5 I found the V-Cube and, again, the "competition standard 5x5x5".
Together the dayan-mf8 and v-cube cost about £38, the competition standard cubes only cost £25 together, which is a considerable difference.
I've seen good review about the dayan-mf8 and the v-cube but I can't find anything about the 'competition standard' cubes.
Which cubes would you recommend me to buy ? What experiences do you have with either 4 of these cubes ?
