I am new to this and i just finally wore out my name brand Rubik's Cube and wanted something faster... so i ordered the Dayan GuHong V2 II... it's fast but feels cheep and light, i was hoping for something more solid and heavier. I like the heavier feel. I also ordered the ShengShou 5x5x5 and love the way it feels and performs. Was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a 3x3x3 that feels like the 5x5x5 one that i got, or if anyone has the ShengShou 3x3x3 and weather it is as well built as the 5x5x5. Thankyou.

I do not have experience with the Shengshou 3x3, but maybe I can help out by leading you somewhere...

Try checking out crazybadcuber on youtube and search for his unboxing of the Shengshou 3x3 Wind. He does a review over it and it does look like an excellent cube. However, this is judgement based on his video as I have never tried it out. I suggest you go check out the video and see what you think about this particular cube from Shengshou.

Actually, here's the video...

Yeah I would definately recommend the SS Wind, it's a great cube for most people (unless you solve like sub-18). Because I'm really slow at 3x3 I use the Wind as my main cube, and it's perfect for what I need.

Hi.

I currently own a rubiks brand 4x4 and 5x5 and I am thinking about getting something better. My 4x4 stickers are peeling like crazy but I dont feel like it is worth to replace them on such a stiff cube. On the 5x5 some core pieces has come off and some of the centers catch and gets twisted when I turn it.

Are there any good, cheap 4x4 and 5x5 that does not require modding and isn't a pain to turn? (Preferably something that doesn't pop or lock too much =) )

Go with SS for both of them

The 4x4 v4?

Need A little Help, ASAP please

OK, so this is for 3x3 cubes. I will buy One very soon, so I need an answer ASAP answer please. I have picked 2 out and they are the Dayan guhong v2 or the DaYan Zhanchi 5 both completely stickerless. I heard the Zhanchi are not as smooth. ok and now I am hearing they are both about the same, no real difference so I guess I should just go with the cheapest one.

Hey. Ok, so first of all, if you ever want to compete, don't get a stickerless. Get a white or black. Personally I actually like the feel of the stickered versions more. Second, in my opinion the zhanchi is by far a better cube. It has far more turning speed potential, and can still be especially smooth. There are people who will disagree with me hand and foot otherwise, but overall, most people agree the zhanchi is the best cube on the market. It has much fewer contact points, and it pops far less for me. Also, the way I lube it, I overlube a bit. So my cube is fast, but controllable. Then it gets faster rather than slower the more I use it, as the lube thins out. Hope this answers your questions!

I prefer my Zhanchi but both are excellent cubes, you won't be disappointed with either. If you plan on using it in competition avoid buying a stickerless one.

Don't forget that it's often about how well a cube is prepared! A perfectly lubed and tensioned GuHong is just as good as a perfectly lubed and tensioned ZhanChi. I do agree though that ZhanChis tend to be better out of the box.

er.. I disagree. I have put many hours into both my Zhanchi and my Guhong and I far prefer the zhanchi. It's much faster, pops much less, and overall suits me better. It's pretty smooth as far as zhanchi's go. So my perfectly lubed and tensioned guhong is fast, but not fast enough for me. The zhanchi is about right for me though. Oh and overall I prefer corner cutting and feel on the zhanchi as well. So yeah that's my two cents. Like I said others have my exact opinions except about the guhong v2. IMO just be glad you don't have to use a rubiks brand.

Seems like that's a matter of personal preference then. Just because you like the ZhanChi better doesn't mean everyone else will. Speed is not the only thing that matters in a cube. I used to only use GuHongs because they were smooth enough that I never locked up. Now I use a FangCun that is somewhere in the middle. I think everyone needs to try both in order to find what they like better.

Difference between cubes

ive been trying to find out the difference between 2 cubes hopefully someone can help thanks in advance.

im trying to figure out the difference between the dayan guhong V2 and the dayan guhong lone goose.

I have a lone goose and its kinda old and needs to be replaced, I am looking to get another cube or 2 that don't pop, great speed and corner cutting, ive had a dayan linhui stickerless and I loved it, but gave it to a good cubing friend.

any thoughts from you guys, if this helps my main method is ROUX. average 40ish.

Re: difference between cubes

From what I've heard Guhong v2 is great.. very smooth, decent corner cutting and less lockups. Also M slice moves are better on a Guhong v2 (than a Zhanchi), which are abundant in a Roux solve.

The only difference between the GuHong I (Lone Goose) and the GuHong V2, is the added torpedoes in the GuHong V2 (of course, the edges were slightly modified to allow these t-parts to fit in ^_^)

You should try the GuHong V2 :D It doesn't lock up that often

I bought a Zhanchi as my first cube a month or two ago but I didn't like it that much so I also got a Guhong v2, which I think is awesome. But then I discovered that my Zhanchi had a manufacturing error (one of the centers was in fact from a Guhong) so I suppose I'll have to reevaluate it when I've had it replaced. Still, I really like the Guhong's smooth feeling and for me it's fast enough, as I'm still a beginner. I think they feel very different but I'm guessing which cube you choose won't affect your times unless you're quite fast already.

If you only want to buy one cube and would like to avoid upgrading in the future as you get faster, perhaps it's best to listen to the more experienced cubers and get the Zhanchi.

well I am still a beginner two, working on 3 different kinds, 2x2, 3x3 and pyraminx all in 3 months time. but the order is in. I got the Guhong v2, I can't wait for it to get here. and here is the thing with and about pros which is why I never call myself that is I have seen many videos where A regular Rubiks cube comes out of the box and no lube or anything is done in one hand only in less than A min. once you get that good, it really does not matter on the cube, like juggling, you learn with 2-3 beginner balls and once you have it down you can juggle 3 Rubik's cubes the same way as the balls, I know, I have seen it done. so, I just went the cheaper way.

I was told to post my question here.
