Oh hey I haven't posted here in a while.

So I got a Zhanchi about a year ago, and I'm completely out of the loop about what's come out since then. My Zhanchi just broke. Is the Zhanchi still considered to be (one of) the best 3x3(s) or has something better come out?

Yeah, it's still considered to be one of if not the best 3x3. However, they have come out with mini zhanchi's, (the sizes being 42mm, 50mm, and 55mm) and the 55mm, though it is only 2mm smaller than a normal zhanchi, has a much smoother feel, and turns very well. There is also rumor of dayan making a sixth cube model, but it hasn't come out yet. You can find a thread on it, but I'm too lazy and not smart enough to leave for a link for it, so just search "dayan 6 mini zhanchi" or something like that and you will find it.

Should I get type c4 witlong or mf8 legend?
I'm a sorta neat cuber, fine with crispiness
well on the mf8 legend the centers bulge out a bit
but with the witlong it depends what you lube it with
i lubed mine with the chinese silicone spray and it
seems to turn better that any other one i've tried
so it depends on wat u like witlong is soooooo crispy
and legend is kinda strange feeling

Hi guys, buying a new 2x2 after my LanLan was lost.

I'm torn up between the V-Cube 2b and WitTwo 2x2.

The wittwo looks promising because of the new mech and those 45 degree cornet cut etc, whatnot.
I also heard that V-cube(pillowed version, specifically) is somewhat great but not crappy.

I'm not a hardcore 2x2 player and still learning new methods (it's been ages since I touched a 2x2!) . So, I don't need the best cube either.

I just need a comparison / pros cons of each, if possible. Thanks :)

best square 1

which square 1 should I buy ?
which is the best ?
could you give me a link please ?

thinking of getting a 2x2, 4x4 and a 5x5 sometime, any recommendations? I've heard wittwo is good for 2x2 and shengshou for bigger cubes, opinions?

The Wittwo 2x2 is just amazing, I love it. Definitely the best 2x2. For 4x4 and 5x5, I cant really give an opinion since shengshou is the only 5x5 I've tried and is also the only decent 4x4 I have tried. However, I could definitely say that they are amazing cubes, and that you can't really go wrong with either.

I'm interested in getting back into cubing after being gone for about 5 years. It's pretty obvious that cubes have taken a huge step forward while I was out and I've missed a lot. Also, I've forgotten what I used to know and am basically restarting from scratch and working through the badmephisto videos.

Anyway, I can't find my old speedcube (or what passed for one five years ago) and wanted to get some recommendations for a cube that would be a good step up from a regular Rubik's but still suitable for beginner-intermediate. I know what the good stuff is for skilled cubers (Zhanchi, Guhong, Lingyun v2, etc...) but I've seen a lot of posts saying that these are bad for people still learning and can lead to bad habits.

So, what *IS* recommended then? If I don't get any replies I was thinking of picking something like an Alpha V, FII, or WitLong - basically something that's a couple steps down the ladder from the latest and greatest. I also got the impression that the Lunhui might be suitable? What do you guys think?

I'd like some cutting ability (doesn't need to be a ton) and hopefully not too prone to lock up. Not so worried about popping as I never really had issues with that on my old cube and I'm not super-fast anyway.

Second, my 19 1/2 month old son has been watching me cube and sometime likes to play with it but it's hard for him to turn. I was thinking of getting him a 2x2 to play with - ideally one that turns very easily, smaller than 57mm, and cuts pretty well since he won't understand that he has to line up the rows. What would be a good brand for that?

Thanks!

I recommend a Type C 2x2 for your son. As far as a "beginner-intermediate" cube I would say just go with a Guhong. Some people say you should start with a slower cube but I don't see the point and I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't like Guhongs.
