are moyu mfjs cubes any good :/
i got the mfjs non cubic bundle because i am broke
are these like really bad or something or i can still bring them to comps and stuff
ps. there’s a skewb, pyraminx,

So I'm getting a lot more into Skewb lately, and I'm considering in investing in a new one. I currently main the Gan Standard, and I've thought about buying the enhanced version. I own the wingy V2, and I definitely prefer the Gan. Is it worth it to buy the enhanced version though?
I have a Gan standard skewb, a Gan enhanced skewb, a wingy v1, a rs maglev skewb and a cyclone boys magnetic skewb. I would say the gan enhanced is the best but not by far, as the Gan standard and the wingy v1 are very good too. I currently main the gan enhanced and the wingy is my backup. I think I can perform almost as well on the standard and the enhanced, but I have higher chance of getting +2s on the standard version. I think the cyclone boys magnetic skewb is also very good too, but the corner cutting is not the best which causes some lockups in solves, and I’m 0.5s slower on the cyclone boys magnetic skewb than on the gan enhanced. The rs maglev skewb is the worst imo even though it can corner cut a bit better than the cyclone boys magnetic skewb. It feels papery and not very enjoyable to do solves on. I have cube drops in almost every solves, and it is the worst skewb I’ve ever tried, even worse than a qicheng skewb with ball bearings. All in all, if you are getting tons of +2s on the standard, just get the enhanced. However, if you are able to control your Gan standard skewb by adding a few drops of thick lubes, it is just as good as the gan enhanced but faster. Hope this helps!

This is very helpful, thank you! I actually do have +2 issues on my standard, so I’ll try using more weight 5 when I set it up again. If it isn’t much different, I probably won’t spend the money on an enhanced version right now.

I main the qiyi clock. I also have a broken lingao M, and I'm willing to get a backup main for clock. What clock should I get? I've heard that a shengshou clock with soft springs can be quite good.

I have a Shengshou clock and I average about 13s if that means anything to you. The only mod I did was I cut out little paper rings and placed them around the pins on the inside to reduce friction.

Can lubricants work in the same way as the paper rings? Also I’m thinking about where can I get weaker springs for it (the spring mod requires 5 springs)

Why do you need a different clock as a backup main? The QiYi clock is by far the best clock so you might as well just have another QiYi clock.

I don’t think only lubes would work quite as well. I use the rings and lube in mine. The problem is that the pins spin when you turn dials and the magnets that hold the pins up are touching the spinning pins and it makes a lot of friction. I couldn’t even do 6 o clock turns with one flick. Now I can do 8-9s pretty easily with one finger

just get another qiyi

This is the right answer. Anything other than another Qiyi is just wasting money.
I’m having my very first comp soon and I would like to ask if a backup main is necessary?
