angstrom V is good, I use it to slow down cubes, Its pretty good. Angstrom X Is like DNM-37 But it doesnt immedeatly speed up, it does overtime and it helps you ajust to it. I'd reccomend both
ok thank you man really needed it, I plan on buying the bundle on the cubicle soon with some weight five

I'm looking to buy a new 3x3 and my first 4x4 cube. I've been out of cubing for a while -- I still use the Dayan Zhanchi 3x3 that I learned on 4 or 5 years ago, and don't really know too much about recent cubes except the basic research I've done over the last day or two. I'm not a particularly fast solver (30-40 sec) so I don't need something that will handle WR times, but I don't mind spending a bit of money for a nice, satisfying, fun-to-handle cube.

It seems based on reviews I see that, for 4x4s, the Moyu Aosu 4x4 GTS2 M is more or less the only choice (I don't mind the $40 price tag). Is this accurate?

Originally I was just going to get a 4x4 but then I thought maybe I should upgrade my old chunky 3x3 while I'm at it. Here, the choices seem way more varied. People talk a lot about the Gans Air cubes but I like stickerless puzzles and it seems that one doesn't come stickerless (and maybe the price is needlessly high for my skill level at $60 CDN). It seems there's also a Moyu Weilong 3x3 GTS series for cheaper though, and also stickerless (I imagine built similarly to their Aosu 4x4 cube?). What's the difference between the GTS2 M and the GTS3 M? The 2 M is cheaper by about $10, should I just go with it or is it an outdated/"bad" cube now? Again I don't mind spending in the $25-30 range here.

Also, I've never used a magnetic cube but it seems the vast majority of reviews/internet comments suggest that I should just get magnetic now? Remember that I'm not a fast cuber but it seems the magnetic cubes offer that nice chunky, satisfying feeling I'm going after, correct?

Also, if possible, I would really value a cube that performs well out of the box. If a cube is "good only after you lube it and change the springs" that is maybe not the cube for me. Basic adjustments would be okay if it's easy and the necessary tools come in the box, but I'm not looking for a huge DIY project.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

To address your questions:

1) Yes, you want the Aosu GTS 2M as your 4x4. It's easily the best on the market.

2) There are multiple differences between the Weilong GTS2M and Weilong GTS3M 3x3s. The GTS3M has stronger magnets. The GTS3M has ridges on the pieces (they are smaller and have much less effect than you might think). And the GTS3M has an easy-to-use adjustment system for its springs for setting tensions. LOTS of people prefer the GTS2M over the GTS3M. Personally, I think the GTS3M is the best cube on the market. I think it can be setup to work for just about anyone. The GTS3M is likely to be too fast for you out of the box but tightening the springs (which is really incredibly easy) is all it takes to get that under control. Just pop the cap off and use the tool to turn the gear thing and that's it. Repeat on all 6 centers, boom, done. Takes 60 seconds, tops.

3) Do you want magnets? Short answer: Yes. Long answer: They're not necessary but they definitely help with cube stability and make turning easier. I can't imagine going back to a non-magnetic puzzle now. Every single main I have, for all events, is magnetic.

Thanks for the advice. Reading reviews for the Weilong GTS3M, it seems like most people needed to lube it to get it to their liking. That easy spring system sounds great, but I've read some reviews that say the 2M also has it? Is the 2M customizable in a similar way? Also seems like the color scheme on the stickerless puzzle isn't as good on the 3M compared to the 2M, so I might end up going with the 2M, especially if it's $30 compared to $40. But maybe both cubes are really good enough that I can't make a bad decision here?

Nice to know the Aosu GTS2M is a slam dunk for the 4x4. I'll put that in my order without thinking too much about other options there.

7x7 Help/Advice please!!

Looking to spend around $20-$30 at the most

I ordered a QiYi WuGi ($20) which has not arrived yet. I see that The Cubicle is discontinuing it and the more I read about it, it appears maybe I should have went with something else. Some people say it breaks pretty easy. This will be my first 7x7 and likely the only one I buy for a long time. I know there are more expensive magnetized options but I am somewhat new to cubing and just like learning so I am not worried about every getting extremely fast. Returning the WuGi is not a big deal at all I'd rather get the better cube that is good but will also last. Out of these 4 which one would I be best off with and why? Thanks!!

Qiyi WuGi - $20 (normally $45)
Yuxin Huanglong - $20
MoFang JiaoShi MF7S - $20
QiYi Qixing - $15.99

Hello! I am a begginer cuber that has been cubing for about 2 months now. My cube is definitely not the best, not a rubik's brand. Heck, I don't even know what it is. It turns okay, but meh. I have recently been looking into getting a better 3x3 and probably a pyraminx. What 3x3 and pyraminx would you recommend and why? Thank you!
P. S. Forgot to mention that I'm on a budget. Something under 20 dollars.

So here is a list of all my mains for every event.

I realize that some of these cubes aren't the greatest, which is why I wanted to make a post asking the community which they would recommend. I will put them all here just in case there is a better option than what I currently use.

Price is not an issue. I usually save for cubes anyway. Though... < 60-65$ is a lot. So I might not want to buy something at that price point.

2x2: Cubicle YJ MGC
I quite like this cube

3x3, OH, Feet, BLD: MoYu Weilong GTS3M
Very good, but a bit fast. Slowed down with Compound X, it is amazing.

4x4: Cubicle QiYi Mini WuQue M
Perfect in my opinion

5x5: none atm but I am ordering a YLM 5x5 M
no current opinion

6x6: Cosmic QiYi WuHua v2 M
Pretty good, but a bit slow.

7x7: QiYi WuJi
Hard to control, and the layers are rather uneven. Smooth turning.

Clock: LingAo
Turns well. Pins are bad though. Planning on magnetizing them.

Megaminx: XMD Galaxy v2 LM
Honestly amazing. Couldn't ask for better.

Skewb: XMD Wingy
Very good and tactile. Controllable. Skewb is my main event so

Pyraminx: XMD Bell (highest magnet setting)
Couldn't ask for better.

Square-1: XMD Volt
Leaves a lot to be desired. I am interested in the one YuXin is planning to release. Should release next week or so, I believe.

I recommend:
2x2/3x3: You should try some other cubes, but the MGC/GTS3M are both great!
5x5: Wushuang M would be better
6x6: X-Man Shadow M
7x7: X-Man Spark M
Clock: Magnetic LingAo

Everything else looks great!

I would recommend:

2x2: Valk 2. If you want *FAST*, then Shengshou Mr. M
4x4: Moyu Aosu GTS2M
5x5: Moyu Aochuang GTSM
6x6: Moyu Aoshi GTSM
7x7: Qiyi X-Man Spark
Clock: A magnetic Lingao
Megaminx: Galaxy v2 LM - the LM is much better than the regular v2, IMHO
Skewb: Moyu Aoyan

I have quite a few cubes and right now I’m having a hard time deciding on a main 3x3. Now that I’ve switched back to cfop I’m starting to like my Valk power m more than I used to. However, I also love customizablility of my gan 356 x but I also like the size of the 354. I get similar mid 20 times on each of them and with the return to Toronto comp tomorrow I’m starting to feel the pressure of deciding which I should main. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
