Hey guys. Trying to decide on a new 2x2 to get, but I've never been that much of a 2x2 solver and haven't been able to keep up with new hardware reviews and things for the past couple of years.
My current main is a np dayan 2x2, which is great, but it's lived its life and its now dying. (Considering I've had it for 4-5 years, I really do need a new cube... )

I'm currently thinking about the following:
Gan 249 v2 M
Wuxia M
Xinghen M

I prefer setting up and lubing my cubes myself, and I'm getting dnm and the angstrom lubes as well, so I'll be able to test the cubes out in various ways. I also do have an old weipo that I'm considering magnetising myself, but I really didn't particularly like the cube initially.

I'll probably end up getting two of these.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated!

All of those are good, I'm tried them all. If you dont like the Weipo like me, you probably prefer lighter faster cubes. If that is the case, I'd reccomend the MGC 2x2 and the Wuxia M. Both with run you about $30 total.

The MGC is also a top notch cube. Those that have tried it say the upcoming Qiyi is the best 2x2 ever.
Wait, what's it's called and where is your info if I do ask. How do you always get this info so early Tabe?

I'm considering purchasing either a Cubicle Pro Shop GTS3 or an Angstrom GTS3. Which one should I get and why?

Hi folks,
I hadn't been in the forum for a long time, like a year or so. I'm thinking about getting a new speedcube. What is considered the best on the market currently? Good M turns are preferred, since I'm using Roux.
My current speedcube is a Dayan Zhanchi 55mm, but it's a bit old.
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I'm back to cubing after a long break and am thinking of getting a newer cube.

I was wondering if magnetic cubes are really better than normal ones....

So is the YJ MGC(The only magnetic cube that fits my budget ;-) ) a notable upgrade over the Zanchi??

Yep, the MCG is great for the price and definitely an upgrade over the Zhanchi, for more than just magnets. Zhanchi is old old old.

The MGC, while a great option, isn't your only one. You could magnetize a cheaper cube yourself if you wanted, maybe a Yuxin Little Magic or MF3RS2.

The MGC is definitely an upgrade over the the Zhanchi. That said, the Zhanchi, especially if magnetized, can be surprisingly good. I've made half a dozen magnetic Zhanchis and they are always very popular with other cubers at comps and so on. People just have to try them as opposed to just hearing the name.

That's not to say I'd recommend buying one :) But if you have one, it's definitely viable but there are better options.

The MGC is not the only magnetic cube in your budget. The Shengshou Mr. M is even cheaper and is a very good cube. It's EXTREMELY fast and loud but performance is very good.

I'd still recommend the MGC over it, however. Or, as another option, buying a Yuxin Little Magic and magnetizing it yourself. If you've never done that, it's very easy. I've linked my tutorial on the subject down below.

You may want to wait and get the MGC v2. It's apparently a big upgrade over the original MGC (itself a very good cube) and has gotten rave reviews thus far. It costs $20.

Welcome Back!

Thanks for the replies!!
I guess I'll wait till the MGC v2 comes out and then decide.
I'll also look into magnetising a cube myself!

Hello there,

Im a bit new into speedcubing and Im not really planning to buy 50+ cubes to see which one can fit me. So I've checked out a lot of reviews, read and listened to many people their opinions but it's hard tbh. That's why Im asking you to help me!

Sidenote: I haven't tested magnets either but many people say it gives more stability.

Currently Im using a 2x2 weipo stickerless and for 3x3 I use a random speedcube (black) I bought in Japan for a very cheap price.

I have no limited budget btw!!

What kind of cube I'd love to have:
Flexibel, speed>control (because I feel that my 2x2 weipo is a bit choppy for me), magnets? (If this adds control - sure). Also I dont have big hands but can handle any size and since Im not that far in speedcubing, I can adapt fairly well but I guess smaller cubes are prefered but not a nessecity.

Please comment which cube(s) would fit my solvestyle!

Cheers.

If price really isn't an issue, I'd say either the MoYu WeiLong GTS3M ($35) or the GAN356 X (~$64). I personally have the GTS3M and I love it, but I haven't tried out the 356 X.
If you prefer smaller cubes, you may want to consider the GAN354 M. It's 54mm rather than the standard 56mm, and it makes a difference!
