Buy the Mf3rs2. The thunderclap was my first cube and it needs cleaning and lubing very often. After some days, after i bought it and did nothing to tune it, it slowed down extremely. It also got a weird touch / feel, as if my fingers would be glued. Got to clean it, and, lubed it the first time. It then got it's speed back, but now it got it's slowlyness and bad feeling back. I don't like the cube anymore, but it's now at "Work", so i don't care about how it's used anymore. The Mf3rs is definitely better, the Mf3rs2 is also very good and the yuxin little magic would be my recommendation.

What 3x3 should I get? I can machine a core, so that doesn't have to be durable. I intend to glue pieces with ABS pipe glue.
Other nice features: stickerless, speedy, made in the USA
Puzzles that I will probably resell: all have weak edge pieces
- Valk 3 power: also has huge weakening holes in the centers
- Gts2
- mf3rs: I meant to get mf3rs2
- qiyi warrior w
Are there puzzle brands that consistently make other tough puzzles? I really like my cyclone boys 2x2 and qiyi megaminx.
It seems that cubers have little interest in durable gear. That's a problem in other sports. If a bike racer only rode racing bikes, he/she would go through lots of expensive custom bikes.
From my research, one of these is probably the best beater 3x3:
Moyu and YJ:
Mf3, Mf3s, Mf3rs2
Guanlong, Yulong, Aolong (v1)
Cyclone Boys: Feiwu, Feichi, XuanFeng
Thunderclap (v1)

Yes...Buy the MF3RS2! I have it and I use it as my main. It is awesome! If you want to buy one between those two then get the MF3RS2!

I don't think there really is anything in the current lineup that really feels like a Thunderclap. To me, the Yuexiao Pro is kinda like a spiritual successor to the Aolong/Thunderclap style of puzzle but to me it feels more like a MUCH better X-man Tornado than anything. I haven't tried a Valk Power so I can't say for sure about that.

Why specifically 57 mm? I looked through the first few pages of the Cubicle and it seemed like all of the newer cubes are 56 mm.

I am no expert of cubes, but in general, in engineering, durability and performance are competitors, with cost being the other factor.
Think of a triangle with cost, durability and performance on the three tips. Your "default cube" lies in the middle of the triangle. If you move toward one tip, you draw further from the others.
Or, in a simplistic way, you can view it as performance -> light, toughness -> heavy. Think of a Ferrari and of a 4 x 4.
I understand that's not ideal, but that's how engineering works. We make do with the resources we have to get the optimal result for the task at hand.

57mm is the old standard. I think the Aolong may have been the last 57mm flagship cube. Looking at thecubicle there are a few discontinued 57mm Cyclone Boys cubes. You might be able to find some old stock of those somewhere.

Yeah there aren't many new ones, but there are definitely some good 57mm still out there.
First that come to mind are the YJ Chilong and Yulong. Both are less than $8 and listed at 57mm. Not amazing by today's standards but definitely usable and quite good in their time. Note: stay away from the Sulong; it's terrible.
The Yuxin 3x3 (not fire, not water, etc, just plain old 3x3) was very good and somewhat cheap to boot. Kind of a mix between a Gans and an Aolong. I believe Collin Burns used it in a WR solve at one point: https://thecubicle.us/yuxin-p-3939.html
Bonus: The Thunderclap V1 and Tanglong are both listed at 56.5mm if that's tolerable to you. The Tanglong was one of my favorites of the Moyu domination era but is a bit more expensive.

Well currently there is only one on the market and that’s the lingao. If you’re asking about clocks in general though personally I like Rubik’s pins with lingao but I also like the magnetic lingao and I might switch over to that soon.

Made in the USA? None of them are. You'd have to get a custom 3d printed cube to get one made in the USA.

The vast majority of cubes are made in China. There are no mass-produced speedcubes made in the USA. If you see an Amazon seller that claims to be, they are just modifying/repackaging a Chinese cube.
There is no clear winner in terms of durability per se, but for a beater I'd suggest a budget stickerless cube. A) you don't have to worry about stickers deteriorating, and B) if it does get damaged it can be replaced for cheap.
