What is your experience with the Moyu Magnetic Pyraminx? It looks great, but how much better is it than the Original Moyu Pyraminx?

Thanks.
Hmm at the beginning (5 days ago) I thought, hmm it's not good, because it is very loose. After tighten it a little bit and solving it 200-300 times it felt much better. I got all my Pyra records on it I got my 3.12 single and I went from a 5.57 ao5 to a 4.72 ao5 which is quite a big improvement. My ao12 is 5.61 etc. etc. You should get used to the feeling of the Magnetic Pyraminx, but when you are used to it is a very good cube.

Thanks for the answer, I don't have a pyraminx right now so I think I'll get used to it quickly.

Currently my biggest nxn is a 5x5. I want a nice 6x6 and 7x7. I think my wife is getting me a cubic AoFu for Christmas so that's all set. As far as 6x6 goes I am kinda torn between the other big 4: WeiShi GTS, AoShi, Yuxin Red, and WuHua

Really intrigued by the Yuxin as it's the smallest in size and is supposed to be superlative after a spring swap. It's also the cheapest. I'm not opposed to a spring swap but it is kind of a pain in the butt.

Just interested to know if anyone else has experience with these cubes and has good perspective. I'm assuming the AoShi's design is becoming a little dated at this point.

Yes the aoshi isnt worth buying, not to mention that price. I am also stuck in the same situation with you as i am choosing between the weishi and wuhua

Well I decided to pull the trigger on the Yuxin Red as it is currently on sale at the Cubicle. Decided to grab a Yuxin Blue as it's also on sale, as well as some Yuxin 5x5 springs and Thunderclap springs so I can do the quintessential swaps for both puzzles.

Side note... also picked up the limited edition mint green Valk 3. Been interested to see what the hype is about and I'm starting to get a little bored with my YueXiao

I haven't been following the scene since Guhong V2 was released (like 2011 or so). Which 3x3 is the de facto cube today and why?

Aolong V2, Thunderclap, Yuexiao, GTS, 356 Air, Valk3

These cubes are probably the best of its class, with each having a unique feel.

I will say that the Thunderclap require a bit more setting up to reach its potential, so if your not good with that don't get the thunderclap.

I see the Thunderclap is the cheapest. Would you recommend v1 or v2? Apparently there's some minor differences in design.

V1. For some reason the V2 is super grindy and a little sluggish (to where my fingers get tired) even though the design differences are pretty minimal. The catching on the center caps due to squared off corners also happens but not frequently.

But yeah V1 for sure.

EDIT: oh you said you're coming back from cubing after a hiatus, so I recommend Traxxas 50k (you might already have that) and lubicle silk, the lubing combo of those two is crazy good for any cube.

For the thunderclap overlube it with 50k, and dab it with silk. Break it in for a while. You know it's fully broken in when you pick it up in the morning and it doesn't feel gummy/sluggish anymore. It may take a couple days.
