Lemme go on the cubicle...:p

Why do people hate DAYAN? @LRXC made some meme about it being bad... Aren't they floor roux or is it just Alex?
They are very very hard to set up. I'm pretty good at setting cubes up and making them perform well, but Dayan cubes take a massive amount of time and effort to make perfect. Breaking in takes thousands and thousands of solves, even thick lube (traxxas 50k) dries quickly so you have to relube often (I want to try weight 8 to see if it lasts longer), modding is almost necessary (48 point edge mod on guhong/zhanchi) to make the cube smooth (this takes a long time), and the cubes can pop even on perfect tensions. The guhong and zhanchi can be very good specifically for roux once theyre set up. Theyre fast, stable, and blocky so you won't be misaligning sides during LSE or second block (this is a problem on cubes like the yuexiao, GTS, gans, etc). The thunderclap is just better in every aspect. It is less blocky and more bubbly, but it is still stable enough for roux. The set up is very easy: 200 solves, overlube core and pieces with 50k, medium/tight tensions, break in.

What cube is better without setting it up? I don't mind breaking it in though.

The cubes you know of.

The messages are sent quickly... YAY CANADA
Hmm. Im picky about cubes so basically any out of the box cube is bad to me. Cubes that perform decently out of the box are the gans 356s air and the weilong GTS, but theyre unstable and not good for roux in my opinion. The thunderclap gets pretty good with only solves, but just putting heavy lube on the pieces should be enough.

for 5x5 I'm thinking of getting the Yuxin or Weichuang GTS. which one is better? I don't want the wushuang one because it's too small. Also, which one has faster inner layers

the moyu definitely beats the qiyi cause the moyu is fast, smooth, and stable; while the qiyi is not. I haven't tried the magnetic one, but I heard it was amazing...

Hmmm thanks for your answer, is the magnetic version worth the $2?

I disagree. I had both and the Qiyi one is smoother in my opinion, and it also has better cornercutting, specially reverse. About the speed, I also think the Qiyi one is faster. One important thing about the Qiyi is that the ballbearings are adjustable, so you can set it up in many ways, not as the Moyu.
I haven't tested the magnetic pyraminx, but I would discard the first version from Moyu out of those three.

It is very difficult to make a choice now :p Both of you give different answer, but yea i will wait longer and watch more reviews on youtube

The Aolong V2 locks? I just obliterated my Mini weilong that never locks and is smoother than my friend's Gans, all it lacks is speed. It could not 45 corner cut though.
Edit: Should I get a Guhong?
Well it turns out that it was just the tensioning problem:p, sorry about that..
can you please recommend anything?
By the DO NOT GET A GUHONG I have a ZHANCHI which pops like crazy, to be specific umm about once in every ao5.

Hehe You said that your ZHANCHI pops so the Guhong is bad. Dayan isn't viable anymore...

I'm looking to buy a 4x4 through 7x7. I'm specifically looking for something that has good corner cutting, since I have a pretty rough turning style. Any suggestions?

So recently I've been getting into one handed solving, but I feel like my aolong v2 is too big and fast to be able to execute algorithms with any sort of fluidity and speed. What recommendations do you have for a newer one handed solver. (It takes me between 30-40 seconds usually if that helps at all.)

If you like the cube you could try the mini version. Is able now bubbly because they are all the v1 mold. Many people use the Weilong mini because it is lighter and blocker. Okay switched to the Valk for one and two handed and just broke all of my averages with it. It is 55.5mm.

Does no one have any suggestions?
I'm currently looking at the YuXin Blue for 4x4, is this a good choice?

I have the Moyu Aosu and it's pretty good. I don't have the yuxin, but I have only heard good things about it. The Aosu has decent corner cutting, but it is nothing special.

I recommend the Cyclone Boys G4 4x4. It is pretty much speedcube-able out of the box, and has a stable, fast, scratchy feel. After breaking in and lubing, it retains the stability but the turning becomes smooth. I've had a yuxin and an aosu, and I'm confident in saying the cyclone boys is better.

I've decided to venture into the world of bigger cubes and wanted to ask a couple questions about two different cheaper 4x4x4 cubes. I'm done some digging and watched videos as well and have come down to the YJ guansu, the Qiyi Storm or the Shengshou V5. I'm sure the Shengshou is good quality but the price tag has driven me to the other two. Everything I've seen and read talks about the popping on the YJ and the Qiyi but I wanted to ask if the popping can be minimized or avoided by tightening the puzzles or if it is still an issue. I'm not really speed solver so accuracy in turning meets corner cutting isn't really a concern so much as having a good quality puzzle that I won't have to put back together if I do decide to turn faster than normal....Sorry about the newb questions

the YJ GuanSu is one of the best 4x4s on the market, and it's only 7-8 bucks depending on where you shop. It can have single piece internal pops (easy to fix) but it will never explode and you should never have to reassemble it. However the qiyi can explode and it's not very good quality.
Hope this helped...
