I personally have not used a Hualong, so look up some reviews about it for what people have to say, but I own a Tanglong and it is my backup main, and defiantly my smoothest 3x3

I'm new to speedcubing. Been doing it about a month and my solve time is around 1:30-1:45 right now using the beginner's method. I am using a speedcube but corner cutting is terrible. It keeps locking up. Don't know if that's just me or the cube but i was wondering if anyone could recommend a really good speedcube that looks like a standard rubik's cube (logo optional). That criteria is important as i'm looking to get into cube magic so it needs to look like a normal Rubik's cube to avoid suspicion.

I just posted this in another section before realizing the wrong place. Anyway, I'm new to cubing. What counts as looking like a normal Rubik's cube?
Does something like this look 'normal' enough?

I don't think so. In the magic business, you learn that anything looking out of the ordinary (i.e., a deck of cards with an unusual back design) will make a lot of people think "gimmick" and the colors on that one aren't what's usually on a Rubik's cube. Although, i could buy stickers and change them myself, i'd rather not go through the trouble if i don't have to.

You can get the me aolong GTS http://thecubicle.us/moyu-aolong-p-5289.html or just by the closest look stickers and what type of rubik's cube magic ?

That looks good. Thanks. I'm learning a toss-up solve (toss in the air and it comes down solved) and another effect where it solves itself inside a paper bag.

Thats cool wouldn't it need to be 2 cubes and and you do some hand tricks and throw up the solved one ? or a rigged cube with one side not solved ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up caving and bought a 356 V2 Master version and am really, really happy with it. I spent a few hours breaking it in and then experimenting with tensions and springs and found the default S8 springs to be perfect for me after some tensioning and a bit of weight 3 lube. It still flexes just a little bit more than I would like, but the S7 springs are too slow for me, so maybe after I get a few different lubes I'll try those out (50k on the core and 10k on the pieces or something like that).

Not to say I won't buy more cubes though. I'd still love to have older 'flagship' cubes in my collection like the Zhanchi, and I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from buying neat looking newer ones.
I recommend using X-man tornado but Gans 357 master would still work with 50k on pieces.

Actually, no. The methods i'm learning now are from Steven Brundage who is excellent at cube magic. He fooled Penn & Teller. His tricks all use an ungimmicked cube with no switches.

Ok I know I just asked a question but I'm making a big order and I'm now having a difficult time deciding on a 4x4 (This is the last question I'm asking XD). So is Moyu Aosu an obvious better choice preformance wise over the yuxin, or is it just a matter of opinion? If both cubes are equally as good I'd go with the yuxin and save 12 dollars, but I don't want to sacrifice preformance. I've seen people complain about both cubes so its hard to tell which one is truly better.

I would go with a cyclone boys G4. I prefer that over both cubes. The only bad part about that cube is breaking in because out of the box performance is absolutely awful. However after a couple solves the cube drastically improves. Also, if you can try to get sticker replacements because the stock stickers have eh shades and eh quality.

That said it sounds like a lot of work for a first-time 4x4 buyer. Buy a regular or mini aosu since money is not an issue.

I would go with a cyclone boys G4 stickerless. Shades are super nice and once broken in, which does no take that many solves, it's the better 4x4 money can buy... while being quite cheap at the same time, so it's a no brainer to me

After researching and watching countless reviews on cubes, i cant seem to find one that fits what I would like. However, I have narrowed it down to a few cubes: The Aolong V2, Weilong V2, Thunderclap, Hualong, and Yuxin 3x3. What I'm looking for in a cube is smooth turning,(like a Zhanchi), and a very fluid feel(like a Thunderclap), while being fast. Thanks.

If you eat the feeling of the Thunderclap I say go with that. The AoLong is similar in feel but heavier so that would be my second choice.

The WeiLong is a bit too blocky for today's standards and the HuaLong and Yuxin are a bit too airy for I think what you are looking for.
