hi I average around 12 seconds and I was planning on either getting the MeiYing or TangLong
I don't really have a preference for the speed of the cube, but I do like my cubes smooth like a WeiLong! They're both roughly around the same price and I can only buy one at the moment. Which one do you think is a better option??

For something smooth go with the TangLong. I like my stickerless MeiYing a bit more though just because of the speed. I compared the two in my TangLong review https://youtu.be/-s6qGF06kpA

I'm starting to like 4x4, so what is a not too expensive 4x4? under say 22 Au dollars? my shengshou sucks lol

The YJ Yusu is a good cube it's just a cheaper version of the Weisu. I recently tried my friends Yuxin 4x4 and it's a really good cube. I'm talking about this Yuxin 4x4 and not the newer Lion model http://thecubicle.us/yuxin-p-3940.html

Yeah, the Yuxin 4x4 is probably the best choice, imo. It's my current main, and is pretty much just as good as the Aosu, but considerably cheaper.

I should note that (sometimes) some of the center piece cubies may fall off from their "stalk" part of the piece. You can just pop them back on as if they were a pesky 3x3 center-cap that fell off, but I'd recommend fixing the problem with superglue.

So, if I'm looking for a good 4x4 but don't plan on setting it up a lot, should I get the Yuxin, Aosu or Mini Aosu?

I'm looking for a new 3x3, im not that fast of a solver and average around 30sec.
My main is currently a Dayan Zhanchi and i also own a Moyu Aolong v2, shengshou aurora and a couple rubiks branded.

I love the feel when turning the Dayan Zhanchi, its effortless, smooth and fast. However it does pop sometimes and lock-ups every now and then. I don't like the feel of the Moyu Aolong, to turn it feels heavier and i don't like how the plastic movee around over each other. However the corner cutting is great and doens't pop and lock-up.

What cubes feels like a zhanchi but performs like a modern cube? I was thinking about the moyu hualong but idk..

The aosu requires the least amoung of work to make it good, but all three of those require minimal setting up.

Is the tanglong better than the aolong v2? Which one would you recommend getting?
Both are equally good, both very stable cubes, with slower turning and excellent corner cutting, anti-pop, and anti-corner twists. Its all up to personal preference.

What kind of setting up?
I never set up a cube before, so I'd be happy for some suggestions.
I could definitely try tensioning but lubricating is only gonna be possible with Traxxas 50k or Maru. Will that work for the Aosu?

Thanks, and sorry for being such a noob.

I would also consider cyclone Boys 4x4 g4. I have it, and it's one great cube. Cheaper than the aosu and I think it is better. But iIalso think that yuxin 4x4 is better than the aosu. But this all after breaking I and setup. All these three 4x4 are in my opinion the best in the market, but iIonly get the g4.

I have an Aosu (regular size) and I have never touched its tensions or lubed it and it's quite nice after some breaking in. I'm sure it could be better with some lube but I'm not as fast of a 4x4 solver yet so as to be worried about that. I have heard that Maru is good for it and it's quite easy to apply (just put some drops here and there between the pieces and let them spread. I have a bottle of Maru but I haven't tried it yet because when it dries it leaves some white residue and I don't want to have to disassemble my Aosu to clean it.

I think the only other 4x4 that will be as good or even better without any setting up will be the Yuxin. I've heard the G4 is not that good out of the box.

So, just to make sure, will the yuxin be good for me without any lubing or tensioning? I'm not planning on being a super-fast solver anyway.
