There is no "best" cube. All of those cubes are good, but which one is good for you is personal experience. You didn't specify what kind of cubes you like (feeling, speed etc..) so you could tell us that so that we can help you better.

Then you should've put it there

i didn't see an option for a poll in that thread, but ill check again next time. right now i love the hualong.. so i guess lick a smooth clicky cube thats fast and controllable. and smooth. i no none of the cubes are actually "better" but which one should i get first based on how other people like them.

"What cube should I get?" The Puzzle Choice Thread

Trying to branch out from Moyu 3x3s, so Yuxin or Gans 357 ? (Fangshi is to expensive)

I would go gans 357 but idk

And I can buy 4 or 5 3x3s and I average 30 secs with a 20 second pb what should I get?

I have like $9 laying around in my amazon account. Is buying the Weilong ($7) worth it? I already have an Aolong and a Guanlong.

Gans 357 has a strange feeling that you might not like at all so I'd recommend you try it before buying it if you can. Mine is sitting in a drawer. The octopus core gives it a twistiness that interferes with my turning so I can't control the cube. I'd say 356 but it is also a bit expensive. And Yuxin is meh, I prefer a Weilong or Aolong to that.

Worth it like in "I'm gonna improve my times by half a second" --> no.
Worth it like in "I'm gonna enjoy trying out a new cube that I might like better than the Aolong / Guanlong and could be my main" --> sure.

I've got an Moyu Aolong V2 as my main lubed with the cubicle lube weight 5 for core and 2 for pieces. I have it for some time now and my pb with it is 30,08sec. I dont have any experience with other populair speedcubes Recently a friend of mine purchased an Shengshou Aurora en had some solves with it without it being tensioned or lubed, it came just out of the box.

The feel of the Shengshou Aurora has suprised me. Where the Aolong feels kinda blocky but very vast the Aurora felt super smooth and not blocky at all. It was a bit slow but then again it came just out of the box without proper tensions or lube. With this experience I wonder if the Aolong is the right cube for me and want to try some others.

What are some populair cubes i should try that have a different feeling then the Aolong v2 and a 'smoother' less blocky feel? I thought of the followig:

- Dayan Zhanchi
- Shengshou Aurora
- ShuangRen

Any thoughts or recommendations on this?

The SS Aurora is very smooth. Well lubed and tensioned is probably the smoothest cube I've ever tried but it also has some drawbacks that turned me down so I've never used it as my main. It tends to lock sometimes or even turn in undesired directions. But this is all a matter of preference so, maybe it is the best cube for you. It is a great cube, that's for sure. I hate the shuangren, though, but again, just a matter of preference. Also it is not buttery but more like sandy. About the Zanchi I cannot tell, I have a stickerless which I started speedcubing with but I have not used it since.

Well I guess best way to try is just to buy them ;-). I've ordered both the Dayan Zhanchi and Shengshou Aurora plus a Cubicle stickerset for both cubes. I've also ordered the Shengshou MirrorCube to try something different.

I've never restickerd a cube because I like the standard Moyu sticker quality and got used to the shades. Hope restickering the Zhanchi and Aurora goes well without too many bubbles underneath. Any pro tips?

Thanks for the advise so far!

PS.
Just broke my PB with 27,30. Yay! Average between 35 - 43 but getting faster everyday.

I meant the second one. Thanks for the answer!

That's my approach as well. If I can afford it, why not buy them and try them? That's how my collection of 3x3s has grown up to 12-14 different models :) If you cannot afford it then you need to be a bit more selective.

Regarding stickers sorry, nope, I apply them one by one, without application tape. I use a cutter blade to take them from the paper and apply them but, unfortunately, I end up with bubbles in some stickers.

Also let me insist that the SS Aurora is very sensitive to proper tensions and lubing so, if at the beginning it feels crappy don't just discard it. In my case one came just great but the other (I have 2 SS Auroras in white and black plastic) wasw horrible. I loosened it a bit, put some Maru and it worked just great.

I meant the second one. Thanks for the answer!

Then go for it... or the Hualong :)
If the Aolong is not your cup of tea (like in my case) it would be rare that you don't end up loving the Weilong.

I am looking to get a new cube, and I was wondering if I should get a YueYing or a Hualong? Thanks

Too little information to be able to help you. What other cubes you have, which of them you like / don't like... if you give us some of that we might be able to help you better. There are no absolutes here. There are also other cubes than those two. Why did you come up with that list? Maybe if you tell us your reasons we can help better.

Someone if going to sell me seven speedcubes from their collection, and I am a beginner speedcuber that averages around 55 seconds. I don't know very much about speedcubes but the seven cubes I think I want are The Weilong, The Fangshi shuang ren V2, The Zhanchi, The Guhong (one of which is stickerless), The CX3, zhanchi, and aolong v2. I am just looking to get the seven "best" cubes. My choices are Moyu - 1 Black Sulong
1 Black Aolong V2
1 Black Weilong V1
1 White Weilong
1 Black Lingpo 2x2

Dayan - 1 Black Zhanchi
1 Black Guhong V2
1 Stickerless Guhong V2

Gans - 1 Black Gans 357

Shengshou - 1 Black Aurora V3

Fangshi - 1 Black Shuang Ren V2
1 Primary & Black Shuang Ren 54.6mm V2
1 Black guangying
Currently I have a newisland phoenix and shengshou aurora, and am just trying to find a main cube to use. Thanks again.

Low-Medium priced cube for a LBL cuber at 40 seconds? (He wants to buy a cube off me again (previously a 1x3x3, ss pyramix, lanlan void cube, ss 2x2, ss 4x4)
He wants a smooth speedcube (he has tried my dianma, aolong, weilong, guhong, guanlongs) but i dont want to appear like exploiting him by buying an aolong for him (possibly YJ stuff?)
