I used the YuXin as my main for several months and I grew to despise it. Something about the way the internal pieces catch when cutting corners is infuriating. I have 3 of them and they all exhibited that symptom and got worse over time. No amount of tinkering with the tensions or lubing ever fixed it. It's odd because out of the box I was thrilled with it. I haven't tried it with Maru soft springs but I have no desire to mod my puzzles beyond lubing and tensioning.

The G4 is bad out of the box. I mean, really, really bad. After a few minutes the potential begins to show but it really doesn't start to get good for a few weeks. Now that I've been using it as my main for over a month, I'm really glad I gave it a chance. It doesn't cut as much as the YuXin and it doesn't have that buttery, silky feeling, but it cuts well enough and is more stable overall. The outer layers of the CB are super fast and crispy. The inner layers are definitely slower but that doesn't bother me at all as it makes the cube more controllable during the 3x3 stage.

I thought he meant 5x5. Maybe not.

Oh, good point. I prefer the YuXin 5x5 over the CB. The CB might be more forgiving for someone new to 5x5 as it less prone to locking and popping.

Why do you prefer it over the CB?

Also what megaminx should i get? Is the riged dayan better than the YJ? And if it is, is the $19 price tag worth it?

YuSu vs Cyclone Boys G4? Need a backup 4x4.

G4 over YuSu all day. Besides me actually liking the G4 a lot, the YuSu is just not that good.

Get a G4 and break it in w/ Maru and the 3x3 stage will be the smoothest and fastest of all your 4x4s. I have two G4s, and like the one that I only put Maru in more than I like the one that I took apart and did a full lubing of..but maybe I just suck at lubing cores :P

I sparingly applied a bit of Traxxas on the pieces and worked it in a lot. It's a tiny bit gummy until it warms up and then it's smooth and fast. I'm learning that less is more when it comes to lubing big cubes. Just two or three drops/dabs and work it in for a few weeks.

Cool. Thanks!

Well I started yesterday... never did it before
I buy one dayan zanchi stickerless, but i didn't like it. It's kinda weird does not seem firm. So I'm thinking about buying another.....

Recommend what you think is the best thanks.

Go with the Guanlong. It's very cheap, but still quite good. If you have a little extra money, I'd try the Aolong V2

pretty much any moyu cube. very easy to adjust, doesn't need breaking in, corner cuts very well, pretty fast, works well at almost all tensions, etc.

You said that it doesn't seem firm. Many speedcubes are designed to be unstable and more flexible. I think the Moyu Aolong v2, Qiyi Bullfight and Qiyi Thunderclap are all stable (for speedcube standards) and fast enough. I use the fangshi Jieyun, which is stable, but also very fast, even being too much for me when completely dry. If you want something cheap for beginners, the YJ -long series is good, but you could also try the new yuxin fire or qiyi sail. They look promising, but I haven't seen anything really about the fire or the sail.

There are couple new cheap cubes in TheCubicle.us. QiYi Sail for 4$, YuXin Fire for 5$, QJ candy 3x3 for 6$. And of course the GuanLong for only 4$ on cubicle, on litghtake it's only for 2.24$. Didn't see any reviews of the first three tho.

I think you should learn the Zhanchi, it's fairly typical of modern speedcubes. You could perhaps slow it down by cleaning out the lubricant, that would make it feel more stable.

I've tried other cubes and I find the Moyu cubes the best. Although Gans is at the same level as Moyu and Dayan, but their cubes are a little expensive.
