Looking for A New Cube

So I recently decided to get into speedcubing, and I'm looking for a new cube. I've heard a lot of good things about Dayan cubes. Also, should I get them at Lubix Cube? I'm not really sure what cube to get either. As you can tell I'm new to this.

Thanks

From my personal experience, PanShi is not so great without putting some work into it. I think getting a dayan ZhanChi or GuHong from thecubicle.us is your best bet. Lubix cubes are good, but by buying lube (lubicle from the cubicle is good), and following this tutorial, you can make one just as good.

Alright, thanks for the feedback. What's the difference between the ZhanChi and GuHong?

In my experience, the Zhanchi is a little more snappy and the guhong is a little more smooth. I personally use a FangCun which is somewhere in the middle I think. You can buy those on Amazon for like $7 I think.

Looking for A New Cube

I would recommend the Zhanchi, that's my personal favorite. Also, I think the PanShi is worse than the Zanchi, Guhong, Lingyun and Lunhui. I know not every feels that way, but I know I'm not the only one who really dislikes that cube.

The Lingyun is very fast and a little clicky. I like it but I find it a little hard to control. The Guhong is very smooth, while the Zhanchi has a crisp feel to it. I prefer the Zhanchi, then the Lingyun and after that the Guhong. All are fantastic cubes. For someone new to Dayan cubes, I'd recommend the Zhanchi or Guhong.

Lubix has good cubes, but you also have the option of just lubing and doing the 48 point edge mod yourself. The major benefit of buying from Lubix is that you'll know you're getting a cube that is well lubed and ready to go (mine needed its tensions tightened a bit).

I also have a Fangcun which I like a lot, although I prefer the Zhanchi over all. I would recommend switching out the Fangcun springs for Dayan springs if you decide to go that route. The stock Fangcun springs are hard and result in a tight cube when tensioned so that it won't pop. The center caps also pop off quite easily, so adding a small piece of paper to wedge the cap in is necessary.

Megaminx brands

I am going to buy a megaminx and have seen the QJ, Dayan, Mf8 megaminx's, however, I have come across multiple cheaper ones which I can't seem to find a brand name. On all the pictures the megaminx faces they don't show the white faces where the logo should be. They call it: children kids 12-sided dodecahedron plastic Megaminx Magic Cube twist puzzel toy.

Does anyone have any idea as to what brand this is, and if you have one of these particular mysterious megaminx's I am talking about, can you tell me what the quality of it is, as in turning quality(does it have smooth turning) and more.

PS. They say it has colours printed on with heat transfer technology.
There must be alot of them around because multiple companies and people are selling the exact same type.

Heres the link(Please look at it, it may help you identify what cube it is for me): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/39055571...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_4633wt_1139

Disregarding what the other megaminx's are like, how is the one I am talking about.

Please help
Thankyou

Megaminx brands

I am wanting to buy a megaminx and am looking at buying the qj megaminx. However, I have come across what look to be perhaps knock of megaminxs, or else are unidentifiable by picture as the sybol for the company cannot be seen. There are alot of them been made though, and are sold by multiple comanies and people. They call them: 12-sided dodecahedron plastic Megaminx Magic Cube twist puzzel toy children gift. Has anyone got one of these and how are they. I am not particulary or extremily picky about stiffness or popping however, it does any me. Would this be good for someone learning how to solve the mega minx, thanks.
Here is the link to the image: http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/m/msh-uJfSJ0K3udCIMasErHA/140.jpg
There is also an attached image.
As you can see, no brand signs or anything.

Does anyone have one and/or tell me what it's like.

if your a beginner then as long as it's not horrible then sure though i would highly recommend getting a dayan if you can afford it or a shengshou if not, zcube.cn has them for less than $8 if i remember correctly and its a really decent megaminx, 2nd best in my opinion behind the dayan (haven't tried an mf8 v3 so can't say about that).

edit: just to add i have a dayan and shengshou and neither mine or any of my friends ones have ever popped, or even come close :)
