I just got passed the 1 min barrier!! :D Out of the last twenty solves, my average is 58.3 seconds :D so I need to get a speed cube now, what would be a cube that can cut corners (I don't need 45 degree, but I want at least 30) good, doesn't lock up at every other turn (goodness gracious, my rubiks brand locks up all the time) and will last me a couple years.

I don't know many options other then the guhong v2 and zhanchi. I've heard names like shengshou and ghost hand, but I don't know much about them.

So my questions is, what is a good beginner speed cube?

either the guhong v2 or zhanchi will be awesome. I think that there is no such thing as a good "beginner" cube. You should just use the best cube from the beginning. Other people will tell you otherwise. The new shengshou "wind" cube is apparently not bad at all, though guhong v2 or zhanchi is still better :). Good luck!

i would say an Alpha V or an F2 are very nice.

Ok, which on lock up less? (And which lasts longer?)

So I think it's more important to get a good foundation on accuracy and technique in general.

This isn't really how things work. Believe me, you don't want to be using a bad cube. That's just asking for a repetitive stress injury. Go straight for the ZhanChi or Guhong V2. It won't make you any less "accurate". Your you just need time to adjust to a specific cube.

Edit: Accuracy comes with practice, but some people are naturally able to be more accurate.

For these two questions, they are essentially equal. As for differences, guhong v2 is supposedly smoother, quieter, perhaps slightly slower. Zhanchi is a little faster, and a little more crispy and clicky. If you want to know, I would say that more people use zhanchis, but a lot of people love their guhongs more as well.

Set the tensions on whatever is comfortable for you. Don't set it more tight just because you aren't fast. It should be comfortable, and possible to control. That's all.

Stickerless cube questions

Amazon has some guhong v2's and zhanchi's stickerless. So I wanted to know if you can lube them with crc? Does it mess up the color? Would spraying a large amount into a bowl, and using a cotton swab(q-tip)
To put some on work?

It is called a II Guhong plus, does that mean anything?
Or are they pirated copies I should stay away from?

Which one would you guys suggest I get?

I can't get lubix/maru etc.

Guhong v2: http://www.amazon.com/Dayan-Guhong-...4&sr=8-1&keywords=dayan+guhong+v2+stickerless

Zhanchi: http://www.amazon.com/Dayan-ZhanChi-3x3x3-6-Color-Stickerless/dp/B005KOWHES/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

nah CRC doesn't mess up the colors. After awhile though, there's a fine powder thing, but I think that't normal for alot of cubes. Also, if you plan on using diff oil as well as CRC, know that this weird black goop will form in your cube, haha.

I hear shengshou makes good pyraminxes. Dayan hasn't produced a pyraminx yet, I think.

Lol, don't worry, I would not use both XD. I think I will go with the guhong v2. ...... But then I am thinking of getting a white cube XD which do you guys think looks better?

If you want to have a cube to compete with, go with white or black. I like both colors, but my main is a black cube. White cubes with half brights look really good though.

X-Cube 7?

While i was browsing shops today, I found something called the x-cube 7. It is pretty cheap, so im wondering if its any good. Should i get it, or should i stick with my YJ 7x7?
