I'm looking for a new 3x3. I have a Guhong V1 I've been using exclusively for years, but the plastic is worn down. I average sub 30. I haven't been keeping up with all the new cubes.

Well first of all, do you prefer smoother cubes or crunchier cubes? If you prefer smoother cubes then you may want to look into the FangShi Shuangren V2, MoYu WeiLong, or Gans III 57mm. If you prefer clicker/crunchier cubes than you may like the YJ YuLong, MoYu HuanYing, Maru CX3, or Gans III V2. There also plenty of cubes that fall in between those two categories like the Dayan Zhanchi and MoYu LiYing. Ultimately it just comes down to personal preference but if you like the GuHong V1 you may like the WeiLong even though it's a bit smoother or the MoYu LiYing which is slightly slower, but still a good cube in my opinion.

Most of the new YJ/Moyu cubes are good like the Weilong, Sulong, Chilong, Dianma, Liying, Aolong, and the Yulong.

I use the Fangshi 55mm 2x2 and out of the thousands and thousands of solves I rarely get any lockups on it.

I second what Michael said. The FangShi 2x2s are also pretty good. The 55mm is very smooth and rarely locks-up while the 50mm is also somewhat smooth but slightly crunchy and never locks-up. The LingPo also doesn't lock-up but it depends on your turning. If your turning is accurate, you won't lock-up.

Lingpo is lock-free for me. I lubed it with alcohol, though.

Hello, forum.


I will be buying some cubes in the near future but I wonder which I should buy i.e. what do you consider to be the better 'buy' of the products in question.

My wishlist consists of the ShengShou 8x8x8, ShengShou 9x9x9 and the ShengShou 10x10x10.

Since they are relatively expensive all-together I am considering only buying one or two of them. I wanted to consult you (the community of this network) in hope of getting you to share your thought of what cube(s) is more "deserving" to be bought.

As perhaps relevant trivia: I am experienced by knowing how to solve the 2x2x2 (Rubik's Original), 3x3x3 (RO), 4x4x4 (RO), 5x5x5 (RO), 6x6x6 (V-Cube, Cubed), 7x7x7 (V-Cube, Pillowed), and the Megaminx (QJ).

I agree with all that. Also modding a Lanlan Skewb makes it much better. Example of the mods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK8ABjell6A basicly it's florian mod and added torpedoes.

IMO, dayan is better. Also i would recommond a wittwo V1 (not v2)

Both cubes are very smooth but the Dayan 2x2 requires some work and breaking in to make it 'good'. I don't particularly like the Dayan 2x2 because I find it a bit sluggish so I prefer the 55mm FangShi over it but I'm not an avid 2x2 solver.
