I watched a few reviews (im lying, i watched alot of them) for the Fangshi Shuangren V2, and i must say, i think that ill love the feel of it. But on the other hand, ive read so many bad things about that cube. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of that cube, but from personal experience? Would you recommend it to a ~25s solver?

Does it have something in common with the 55mm stickerless Zhanchi? Thanks!

I personally love my fangshi shuangren. What bad things have you read about it? I think its just a matter of personal preference. If you think you like it, try to see if it outweighs the cins youre reading, because more often than not those cons are based on people's own personal preferences.

Im looking for a 2x2 thats better than my Lingpo. I think its just turning style but mine feels very locky. Would you recommend the Fangshi ShiShuang or the Dayan Zhanchi 2x2 or the Wittwo V1

I prefer the ShiShuang to my dayan, but that is mostly because I like the 55mm. It terms of speed and corner cutting, both are great and I don't think that would be the deciding factor. Both are smooth, but the Fangshi is a bit crunchier. Overall, if you want a bigger 2x2 the Fangshi is the way to go and if you don't it depends on how you want the cube to feel.

You and me are in the same boat...well sort of. I've been looking for a replacement for my 55mm Zhanchi which has been my main for some time now. Before the 55mm I just used a regular 57mm Zhanchi ever since it came out in 2011. One of the cubes I'm seriously considering is the 54.6 FangShi ShuangRen. Technically not the V2 but basically the same cube just different size. Now before I start I think it's important to mention that Zhanchi and FangShi ShuangRen are pretty much nothing alike, at least in my opinion. That being said, I think the ShuangRen V2 is a great cube. It's just some people don't particularly care for the scratchy feeling it has. But the good thing is that scratchy feeling wears off after a while leaving the cube very smooth and fast (not that it isn't fast to begin with). It's physically impossible to pop and corner cutting is pretty good. It would work well with your speed. As for cons I would say maybe the unique scratchy feeling some people dislike, at first it can be a bit uncontrollable because it's slippery (but maybe that's just me and my small hands), and if your turning isn't so great it can lockup. But once you get used to it, it can be a very good cube and one I do recommend.

Most of the top 2x2ers (is that a word?) will disagree with me but I don't like the Dayan 2x2. It is very smooth but I find it sluggish. Some people say it just needs a bit of work to make it good. I haven't really done anything to mine so it's pretty terrible. My two main 2x2s are the MoYu LingPo and the FangShi ShiShuang. Seeing as you don't particularly like the LingPo, which I can understand, I would highly recommend one of the FangShi 2x2s. Both sizes are good and even though the 55mm fits better in my hands I prefer the 50mm. The 55mm is very smooth but can be a bit locky for me sometimes and the 50mm feels similar to the 3x3 FangShi. The 50mm is smooth but a little bit crunchy and for me it doesn't lock-up. The only downfall is that it is tiled but that can be fixed.

Woot, i got so happy when i saw on my phone that you quoted my post, so i immediately hopped on the PC :D

Well actually, that scratchy feeling got me to like the cube in the first place, i dont think that that will be a con for me. My stickerless 55mm Zhanchi should be here in a day or two, after i play for a few days with it ill decide if ill get just an ordinary stickered one or a ShuangRen V2. If you were to pick, which cube would you choose?

Haha, okay :) Well that's a though question for sure. My main is a 55mm Zhanchi and I love it. It's clicky but also smooth. One feature that sets it apart from other cubes is of course its speed. It's one of the fastest cubes on the market. Its size is great for smaller hands but works for bigger hands as well. As for cons, the Zhanchi does pop and if your turning isn't great it will pop a lot (if this happens to you it just may take some getting used to or you can try tightening the tensions). I feel like my turning is good for the most part but I had two pops at my last competition using it but I think that was partially because of nerves, mine usually never pops. Other than that though it's a really good cube. I've already talked about the FangShi so I won't bore you by retyping everything here :) Now with all of that being said if it were me, I'd buy the Zhanchi but because you are already getting a Zhanchi I think you should get the FangShi just so you have two different cubes to compare and use. Both are great I think. If you end up hating one then you can maybe trade it or sell it but at least you got to try them out.

Ill order the FangShi V2 in a day or two. Thank you Tina!

I'm interested in the Constrained Cube but I'm not sure which version to get.. All I know is that I'm probably going to get it from hknowstore or TheCubilce.us. Which Constrained Cube type would be not too hard, but not too easy to solve?

I want to buy a cube in September for OH What would be a good size?. I normally do R's with my ring finger. I currently use a 56mm YJ Chilong. I hate pops and corner twists a lot!!!!

if you do R moves with the ring finger in a 56mm then that IS the best cube size for you. For corner twists and pops, none of these will happen in OH solves, unless you are like sub-20 OH. I'd suggest maybe.. a Moyu Liying or Huanying if you are really good at OH(it is only good at very high tps). they are both like 55.5mm and turn well, never pop.

Lightake is having this crazy sale right now: http://e.lightake.com/2014/0619-CRAZY SALE Round2/

and I'm planning on buying a new cube.

Right now I have a standard 3x3x3 Zhanchi, and my solves aren't that great (like 35 seconds), but hey I haven't bought a cube in a while so I think i'll purchase one now.

Any idea what to get? It's been a while since I cubed, and back then was the whole Dayan craze. Now I hear there a lot more viable alternatives.

Preferably a cube with different feel than the Zhanchi with great corner cutting. They say the zhanchi is fast, so maybe I might be wanting something smooth?

I'm relying on you guys since I'm completely ignorant of the cube world at the moment.

Thanks!
