I'm ordering new cubes, and I might as well make sure I'm making the right decisions.

I'm having problems deciding whether I should get the Weilong V2 or Zhanchi as my first stickerless (I'll still get the one I don't pick in its stickered form), so any advice with that will help. I'm averaging just over a minute with a mixture of Fridrich and the beginner's method (a lot of that time is spent on assessment), but I'm comfortable with the speed of the FangShi ShuangRen V2. I own the YJ SuLong and ChiLong too but I'd like a more exciting cube.

Apart from that, I'm thinking of going with the Maru CX3 and a DIY 54.6 ShuangRen. No problem with those no? Thanks in advance.

At your speed I think both the WeiLong and Zhanchi would be too fast for you. The YJ SuLong and ChiLong are both great beginner cubes and there's nothing wrong with them. If you want a new cube then maybe go for a YJ YuLong. My only gripe with the CX3 is that it's 58mm which is way too big for my small hands. Other than that, it's a good cube. Very clicky though. The FangShi is also a very good cube, as you may already know, and I do recommend getting the mini as a DIY kit.

Definitely, without hesitation- tell you to get:
1) A pyramorphix, if you like shape shifters. It's not hard, but is novel.
2) Get a Pyraminx. You should have one for your collection. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyraminx
3) Get a Megaminx. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaminx. Like my Dayan with ridges. http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?39362-Which-Dayan-Megaminx-is-better

Don't be afraid of the Megaminx. I just started doing 3x3x3 a few months ago, then went for the Megaminx. It is not really hard, solved layer-b-layer like a 3x3x3, doesn't have any of the 4x4x4 or 5x5x5 parity issues.

Thanks for the advice, I take it that the WeiLong and the ZhanChi are quite faster than the ShuangRen V2 then?

@cubeaddicted: I can only speak for the ShuangRen V2, but it's my favourite cube out of the three I own (I also own the YJ SuLong and ChiLong). I like the colour scheme; while the MoYu/YJ stickers are great for recognition, there's something elegant about the ShuangRen stickers. The primary with black caps version is also one of my favourite cube designs. It's fast right out of the box, and it needed barely any tension adjustments. Some say you need to break it in, but I find it a consistent cube. No need to worry about pops either.

Need help finding new cube

Currently I'm rocking a Rubik's brand 3x3x3 v2 which just feels like a buzz kill compared to My buddies cube. (not sure what it is nor does he know). I honestly just need a New cube because this one just feels very bad etc. Right now I'm averaging 55- 75 seconds (55 with lucky, 65 normal and 75 with a mess up) . I just don't know what cube to get next.. so suggestions would be great.

Also I'm pretty New to the site and I was looking trying to find the best place to post this But if It's in the wrong place please move. Thanks.

Hello! I would recommend to get a Dayan Zhanchi for your first speedcube. That was what my first was and it was super fast yet gave room for better cubes, at your level, any speedcube will help you to improve.

This is the wrong place but that is ok, next time please post here though: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/s...be-should-I-get-quot-The-Puzzle-Choice-Thread

Good luck!

Appreciate the advice m8. I'll look into that cube, thanks. And Sorry for wrong spot, thanks for showing me the right one.

Hello, based on your times I would recommend looking into getting a YJ 3x3 like the SuLong/ChiLong or a ShengShou Aurora. The FangShi ShuangRen V2 is also an option but I think a Zhanchi or a WeiLong would be too fast for you and would take away some from what you can learn from a beginner cube, but both are excellent cubes once you improve your times.

Oh and like Rocky said, the link above is the proper place to request a cube but no worries.

I am interested in getting a new cube, and I have narrowed my choices down to either an Alpha V or a Moyu Aolong.

I have 2 AVs already, but neither is in full working capacity, but I recognize how well they perform. The Aolong is hyped, but I don't think any modern cube can outperform the Alpha V.

Thoughts?

Wow the Alpha V is an old cube. It was pretty good in its day but it can't even compare to the new cubes on the market today. The AoLong is okay in my opinion and not the best but it will probably be many people's main cube. However, I suggest getting a WeiLong if you don't have one already. It's very fast and smooth and much, much better than the AV hands down.

This guy's been using the AV forever.

@Matt: why not both?
