[Help Thread] Puzzle Choice Thread

i want a reliable strong 4 by 4 n 5 by 5 rubiks cube which is relatively fast....my avg time on a 3 by 3 bad n cheap rubiks cube is about 100 secs.I insist on GOOD quality cubes because i bought 2 funskool(indian brand) 4 by 4 rubiks cubes n both of them got damaged within a week.And the colours of my 3 by 3 rubiks cube are almost completely faded...
So i want a really good quality cube..first i'd like to buy 4 by 4 and 5 by 5 cubes n then il buy a superfast 3 by 3 one...so to sum it all my requirements in the order of priority are
1.Very high quality(it shud never break and i wont use it very often.It shud last for years)
2.Colors should not fade and it wud be awesome if there is like zero chance of fading like if it is stickerless
3.Pieces must not fall off at any cost and i cant afford to buy another
4.It shoudnt be too expensive im ready to sacrifice some speed for cost n quality
5.It should atleast be relatively fast if not the fastest...smooth n fast

If have no problem with diy cubes or lubrication but i have to be totally sure i dont break it..

3x3: Dayan Zhanchi or Guhong v2 (any dayan cube besides the Panshi is pretty decent tbh.)
4x4: Shengshou
5x5: Shengshou

They're pretty cheap.

Torpedoes slow your cube down.
I've never had trouble tensioning one. Who cares how hard a cube is to tension anyway, as long as it's possible to tension?
How gummy a cube is depends on how you lube it.
Every cube collects gunk inside.

Seems like you had one bad experience with a guhong v1 and you're judging it based on it.

It is much smoother than a GuHong v2 and that's why I like it.

I disagree, but I digress. Zhanchis are the best! They are practically unpoppable.

4x4: Shengshou
5x5: Shengshou

This is going to be an uncommon one, but I have been cubing for a decent amount of time (PB 21.91 set today! & avg 12 32.79), but only focusing on the 3x3. I have a zhanchi and a rubik's store-bought.
I have ~ 35 to spend on cubes
Should I get: a 50mm dayan 2x2, Fangshi shuangren, SS(Shengshou) 4x4, and SS 5x5 OR All Shengshou 2x2, wind, 4x4, 5x5, pyraminx, megaminx and mirror cube. Im leaning towards the latter cause more cubes and I don't need the best cube to learn ortega on, but what do you think?

Keep your zhanchi. Get all SS From there on. SS mirror cube is not the best, so you might get away with something cheaper. YJ pyraminx is amazing. 1 thing: don't lube a SS 2x2. I ruined mine that way.

I hate ZhanChis. I actually liked the Guhong V1 (don't have one right now). Do I think the ZhanChi is a bad cube? No. If we're talking about performance, They can both perform really well. The Guhong doesn't pop much if you tension it right.

50mm dayan 2x2, Fangshi shuangren, SS(Shengshou) 4x4, and SS 5x5
The 2x2 will probably last you a long time and I heard the fangshi is great. SS 4x4+ I heard are the best too.
And if you want a pyraminx I also heard that SS pyraminx's are very good.

My Guhong v2 is way faster and smoother than my Zhanchi.

It's mostly a matter of personal preference, but most people like Zhanchi.

upon quiet a bit of researching i have 2 choices
Shuang ren or Guhong V1 ?
