Best super-cheap cube

I'm trying to convince a local museum to get involved with cubing. As a part of this I've suggested that they have workshops where visitors could learn how to solve the cube, which would require buying a bunch of cheap cubes that people can use.

Anyone have experience with some of the super-cheap (~$1-3 when bought in bulk from China) cubes? Primarily looking for durability, but it would be nice if they had ok turning out of the box and it would of couse be bad if they popped easily. If this goes through, I'm hoping to also teach the basics of speed cubing, so preferably they shouldn't be too crappy.

Also interested in general ideas, suggestions and experiences from people having arranged similar activities.

Well there have been a few new 3x3's released, and I think I'm due for a new one. What would you guys recommend at the moment? Thank you.

Zhanchi or a Guhong V2 is still my personal preference.A cube called the Fangshi is being released, but there's only 4 or 5 videos on it as of now. If you don't want to wait for more reviews, then go with the first options stated.

It would be a shame to wait just to have the Fanshi turn out to be better than the Zanchi or Guhong... I'd wait just to be sure unless you just have extra money to blow unlike me.

Which 4x4 is better? Shengshou or V-cube?

I want to get a 4x4, and i don't know which to choose shengshou or v-cube... can you list the pros and cons and then make a recommendation on which i should buy?

Get the Shengshou either way, its very very cheap and currently the best 4x4 there is. There isn't much info on the Vcube4 but if its anything like their other cubes the Shengshou is definitely better.

I think people should not post in this thread unless they actually have both cubes and can give a comparison, otherwise you won't actually answer the question asked by the poster.
Just saying.
