What don't you like avout the Shengshou? Other people here seems to like it so I'm curious what you have against it since I'm about to buy one.

Thanks

The Shengshou 4x4 v3 is high quality, relatively quiet and definitely the best one on the market. You would not regret buying one! The Dayan mf8 4x4 can require some modding to make it ok and it pops and stuff.. I'd say 95.314159percent of people who own a shengshou would agree that the 4x4 v3 is the best! It's way cheaper than the Dayan mf8 one and I'd even say it is quieter. The Shengshou 4x4 v3 or v4 will serve you well!

Alpha V vs. Type C V Wityou

Between an alpha v and a type c Wityou which cube is better is terms of corner cutting and turning quality? Which one would you recommend and where is the best place to buy it from?

I've been playing around with the Rubik's Cube for about a week now. I was having fun and my store bought cube felt awful, so I decided to get a stickerless Dayan Zhanchi. Of course, since I'm a beginner it feels extremely loose and sloppy (and even a bit slippery--probably because it's stickerless). I do like it much more than my store bought, though. Should I mod it (perhaps tighten the screws?), and if so, how? Alternatively, I wouldn't be opposed to picking up a new cube that's better for beginners. I refuse to go back to the store bought though. Advice?

Modding it won't make it go any slower... I suggest tightening the screws.

Should of worked your way up to the Zhanchi like getting a maru then an F2 then Zhanchi

Well I can still do that. Can you give me a link to a 'maru' and explain why it would be good for me?

To the fella two posts above, should I just tighten it to my taste, or is there a method to it? Is it possible for me to do irreversible damage?

I didn't do that, I started out with a storebought, and then a zhanchi and guhong v1. It depends on opinion I suppose.

There's a part in there that shows you how to tension it. You can do that, if you'd like. It is possible, but it's really hard to break your cube by just tensioning it. Just be careful, and you'll be fine.

I'll watch that later tonight, but wouldn't that make it properly tensioned for an experienced solver? So should I use the method and make the sides a little tighter? Again, I haven't seen the video yet, so this may be acknowledged.

yea, you can and should do it a bit tighter than the video says. Youtube has quite a few good tutorials, if you can find the right video.

Okay, thank you. I'll report back after I've done this--might be a few days.

Also, waiting for the guy who suggested a new cube to explain why.

I have my main GuHong V2 for about 1 1/2 years now, and I want it to rest now and try another cube. I want a cube that is smooth and lil' bit clicky and controllable. but not very clicky and rough, ( like the C-IV) I like the mix of two. I tried Zhanchi, but.. mm, I'd like to try another cube. Is LingYun II good? Or should I wait for DaYan 6? lol

LingYun V2 is a very good cube IMO. It's a little bit clicky, but not too much. It also turns very smoothly. I think it's the cube you're after.

Which cube should i get to go sub 20?I currently average sub 25(on rubiks non-DIY) But its too slow. Most people on the net say that i wont be able to control the dayan cubes right now so what i want exactly is an intermediate cube ;something like Shengshou 3x3,ghost hand,F-II ?

I'd just go with a Dayan cube, no need to spend more money than you actually need to, if you're going to buy a Dayan in the end anyway
