I agree with what Ickathu said. My vote goes to the Shengshou, but I have never tried the Dayan so I can't say for sure, but the Shengshou is amazing.

Hey guys,
I am planning to get a new cube to replace ny store bought rubiks.
My average is around 42ish ... Should I get a Dayan Zhanchi? Also would a stickered Zhanchi be better or a stickerless?
(I know they arent allowed for competitions)

OK, thanks guys! I think I'll go ahead and pick up the Guhong (V1) and see how that goes.

Ended up picking up both a Guhong V1 and a Lun Hui (both in white). The Guhong seems like it needs some breaking in or possibly lubing, it's very clicky and doesn't seem to cut well. The Lun Hui on the other hand is dreamy straight out of the box. Cuts great, smooth, and just overall feels nice. I think for now this will be my main but I'll keep working on the Guhong to try to break it in as well, maybe try adjusting the tension?

why didn't you pick a v2 and just take out the torpedoes if you didn't like them?

I'm just starting out and thought the Guhong v2 might be too fast for me to control at this point. Also, the v1 was several dollars cheaper than the v2 and I can't resist a bargain :) I'm sure I'll be picking up more cubes down the line anyway, so I can always get a Guhong v2 later if I want.

The Guhong v1 is faster than the v2..

I bought a F-II when I first started cubing a year ago, but bought a Zhanchi not so long after because I didn't like the fact that it kept popping so much. Now that I have a gentler touch, I realize I really miss the bubbly/round feeling of the F-II. I find the Zhanchi too "square". Is there any cube that has a similar feeling? I've only tried the F-II and Zhanchi so far. Thanks!

Hey, about 4 years ago I was into 3x3 solving. Now I want to get back into it and be pretty fast (30 sec). What cube is recommended? ZhanChi? GuHong? Type F2?

what are the strengths and weaknesses of the top cubes?

Thinking of getting a 55mm zhanchi as my main after looking around some reviews. My current 57mm is good but locks up a lot after my fail modding no matter what i do to it, it's also tricky to control.

I'm used to black cubes but white cubes always seem to have that "smoother" feel that I prefer, I don't know if this is physically true or just a kind of feeling I get.

My hands are fairly small, I do feel the 57mm is just a touch too large which explains the difficulty controlling.

So what should I go for? 55mm or 50mm? white or black?
