Planet Earth... I think...
Hi all,

Found this in the closet today. I remember getting it about 7-8 years ago. It got thrown in the closet after I messed with it for days to no avail. Does anyone know what this is, and are there instructions on how to solve it?

Thanks!

Regarding the axis cube. The first time it took me 5 days to solve, but now I’m hooked! (And down to less than 20 minutes.) It’s quite old but still works, especially after adding some lube.

My question is, is it worth upgrading? Do the new axis cubes turn better, have magnets, etc.

New axis cubes turn better, but they don't have magnets.

I’m looking at expanding from an axis cube to a ghost cube, which I think is a little different. Specifically, I’m looking at this one:

Does anyone have experience with this brand or cube? Or, is there a different one you’d recommend instead?

I've been doing a 2x2 session with my little magic 2x2 and honestly it's a really underrated 2x2 for its budget price. The only drawback is that it feels cheap because the plastic is creaky.
I am really curious about the meilong 2x2.

Ahh yes the Twister.CK Ghost Cube 3x3,3x3 speed cube stickerless, cube puzzle speed,Smooth Corner Turning with New Anti-Pop Structure,Come with Bonus 2 Sets of Stickers (Golden and Silver) + 1 Cube Stand (black) from Amazon. Amazon has a lot of knockoffs and stupid names for their cubes but that's a pretty good price for a ghost cube. But...

I'm looking for some new 3x3's. My only good 3x3 is a Valk Elite which is pretty good for two handed solving but sucks for OH and BLD. Also, my turning is starting to become a bit more rough and spammy which doesn't suit the rigid blockiness of the velite. I'm open to getting multiple 3x3's to see what kind of cube suits me best. I have a budget of around $40. (well actually $60 but i want to get the $20 MGC squan.)
Here are some 3x3's I'm considering, but I'm open to other options.
- Tengyun v1
- Zhanchi Pro
- RS3M 2020
- Weilong WRM
- Weilong WRM 2020
- Tornado V2
Any suggestions/advice is appreciated. I'm currently most interested in the Tengyun v1 because I'm a fan of Dayan and from what I've heard it's great for BLD. (planning on learning 3-style sometime in the future). BTW, Guhong v4 has a breaking issue (which i've personally experienced), so I won't get another one.

I main the Tengyun v1, and it's great! If you buy it, you should just be aware that its magnets are really weak and don't offer much control as opposed to the valk elite M. Although I am no OH pro, I really like using it, it's got effortless turning and just feels great to use with only one hand.
I also have the RS3M 2020. Personally, I prefer the yuxin little magic M, but it's an unpopular opinion. I think that the Tengyun would be a better choice if you want it especially for OH and BLD
I also have some experience with the WRM. It's another cube I really love, but you have to be aware that it requires some setup.

Overall all I'd have to add would be the YLM M. I'd say it's about as good a choice as the Tengyun V1. I'd recommend you also make some more research on the other ones that I didn't mention.

The Yulong in my opinion is trash. Two years ago it was a good budget cube but now if you want to get a budget cube your better of with a Qiyi ms or the Rs3m 2020, also the Meilong m is pretty good.

It's one thing to not like a cube but it's just patently false to call the Yulong v2M "trash". Trash would imply that it's not usable, that you can't get good solves on it, etc. None of that is even remotely true. It may or may not be the right choice for somebody but "trash" it is not.

*looks at Yulong box in the trash*
Notice I said Yulong. I did not say the Yulong v2m. The box, when comparing to boxes now a days is of lower quality. Even budget cube boxes look nice now. If you had to pick a Yulong box or a Rs3m2020 box or an 11 m Pro to say goodbye to you would probably say the Yulong box. It is also not usable. You can use a ms box for display as it is transparent. No such thing can be done with the Yulong box.

edit: I do agree with you "trash" is to strong of a word.

ok, so... my birthday is coming soon and i kinda want a new magnetic 3x3, should i get the tengyun v2 m or the weilong wrm 2020?
I actually wouldn't recommend either of those (from what I've heard, I haven't tried either of these two). The tengyun v2 seems to be an all around "meh" cube with nothing really special to offer, and people call the weilong wrm a more expensive RS3M 2020.

If you aren't going to get the gan 11 M pro/duo, which seems to be the "best" 3x3 these days, you should probably get something cheaper, and maybe you'll also be able to get a second puzzle for your birthday! I'd personnally recommend the yuxin little magic M, but the more preferred one is the RS3M 2020. There's also the Guhong V4 that's starting to gain popularity.
