Hey, by now I tried all of the cubes SuLong, ChiLong, WeiLong and HuaLong, and in my opinion the SuLong is noticeably worse than the Wei/Hua-Long for example, in terms of corner cutting at least and maybe speed. I wouldn't really say it's a top notch cube but the ChiLong is quite nice indeed.

Yeah, I was going to say that if you want sort of a "downgraded" speedcube the Sulong would not probably make it.

I don't think it's a downgraded cube, either. I have most of the hot cubes and it has been my main for many months. I think it has helped me developed an accurate turning style that has translated well to big cubes. Most people are considerably faster than me at 3x3 but I hold my own much better on 4x4 and 5x5.

I have what may sound like a bit of an odd request. Can anyone name any 3x3s that are good for practicing accuracy on?

Like, a possibly outdated cube which still turns smoothly and is still possible to get good times on, but will pop/ corner-twist a lot if you aren't accurate with your turning, and has corner cutting which is a bit worse than most modern cubes?
Got any recommendations for something that'll fit this general description?

I just feel like -as a newer cuber- I've been spoiled by having super-good cubes from an early point in my "career" like the 356, with superb corner cutting and no pops. I think it would be good for me if I spent a little while practicing on something "downgraded" to improve my turning accuracy, fix some bad habits, and to make it easier to transition into more "fragile", easier to pop puzzles, like big cubes (which I currently suck at).

The problem I have with the suggestions so far is that if you practice on a slower cube, you'll probably overshoot on your good cubes. What you really need is a cube with bad corner cutting but similar turning speed to your main. If I were you, I'd maybe get a Guangying and tighten it a lot.

Hello,

I'm think of getting a clock soon. Is the BaiTai clock a good choice?

Thanks.

If anyone has both cubes can you tell me whether the Yuxin or Cyclone Boys 5x5 is better? I'm pretty slow in general,so I just want a good cube to casually solve. However, my Qiyi 5x5 pops a lot. Can anyone tell me if the yuxin is worth the extra price? Also, since I don't really do 5x5, I want a stickerless one. My cyclone boys g4 has good sticker shades, and I think the 5x5 has the same ones, but I think yuxin stickerless shades have a terrible orange. However, I am willing to put up with it if it really is THAT much better. Thanks!

It might be too early to say- the Yuxin only just came out. Might wanna wait until more proper reviews have been released. From what I've heard so far though, the Yuxin seems to be considered the better cube out of the box.
I myself haven't tried the Yuxin 5x5, but I own and main the Cyclone Boys 5x5, and despite the low price tag, it's one of the best 5x5s I've ever felt. Just throwing that out there.

Agreed. It takes more than a few days to break in and fully evaluate a 5x5.

I have the CB and both of the MoYu 5x5s. The CB is a great cube regardless of price. Anybody interested in 5x5 should give it a try. I still prefer the AoChuang because it's a bit more stable but it's not nearly as forgiving as the CB.

Well thecubicle is having a sale so I will choose the CB 5x5. It seems like I won't regret buying it even if the yuxin is better, and I can save a few dollars too. Thanks for the help!

Hi, I have been not cubing for 3-4 years now and now want to slightly update my cube collection if necessary as I am aware that some new cubes have been released. But since there are a LOT of new cubes there, I really don't have an overview over all the new cubes. Currently I am using: Dayan Guhong, Maru 4x4, modded V-Cubes 5 and 6, V-Cube 7, V-Cube 2.

I do not care for 2x2 that much, but the Guhong seems to be a little bit too slow and does pop once in a while. As for the Maru 4x4, it does seem to lock up quite a bit and sometimes the inner pieces pop out which is really annoying. I am still relatively satisfied with the bigger cubes, but if there has been large improvements here, I will definitively want to try them out.

Thank you in advance for your input.

So are you asking for our opinion on cubes?
Well if that's the case, then:
3x3: Any 3x3 is good nowadays, none of them have popping issues and most are fast enough depending on how you set it up. I'm currently using a Moyu Aolong V2. It's got a medium speed, no pops and it's very smooth.
4x4: It depends on your price range. But the most widely used 4x4 is the Moyu Aosu, mini or normal size. That is one of the best 4x4s around, if not the best.

3x3: Any cube that is relatively new will be just fine but most popular seem to be aolong v2, hualong, gans 356, and meiying. But really any new 3x3 is fine. Good cheap cube guanlong, or for few more $, yuxin, or thunderclap.
4x4: you could get yuxin, G4, or aosu. Good cheap cube yusu.
5x5: yuxin, Cyclone boys 5x5, hua/aochaung, cheapiest is CB.
6x6: aoshi os Shengshou, SS is cheaper.
7x7 Cubic Aofu GT, mini shengshou, SS is cheaper.

Hope this could help.
