Yueying is much better but Hualong is better then the Yueying in every aspect and it feels and turns similar too.

The thing is that I tried the Hualong and although it is a very good cube IMO it doesn't really suit my turning style since I'm kind of more used to a Zhanchi type of feel (i.e. controllable, smooth)

Yeah, totally agree in the general sense. I don't know particularly about the Hualong / Yueying because I don't have any of them (still waiting for my Yueying to arrive on the mail, no plans to buy the Hualong... yet).

But, in general, with so many cubes so great these days, it is more a matter of preference and style that one cube being better than another. For me the most important part is to set up a cube the way I feel more comfortable with, sticker shades, lube, tensions... I have more than 10 top-notch 3x3s and the one I use is one of the cheaper and not used as main by many people (YJ Chilong). I used an Aolong v1 for months but ended up hating the corner twists (I like somewhat loose tensions). I keep trying out new cubes but there's really no need for that, I just like to buy a new cube once in a while, that's all.

A different issue is if you lost, broke, etc. your main and really need to buy a new cube but, then again, it is more a matter of watching reviews and see if the comments make you feel it will suit your style and preferences. If I were to lose / break my Chilong I still have a nice Weilong v2 and a Sulong that I could surely use with similar results, or even go back to the Aolong, adjust the tensions, lube it and see if I can get rid of most of the corner twisting... If I had none of those, I would probably try one of the new cubes, probably the 356, the Yueying or the Hualong. Cubeologist had a "love at first solve" with the 356 (after a bit of modding in the corners) so I'd probably go for that. Why? Because I can relate to him the most as he's just a couple seconds faster than I am. The opinion of others I also respect a lot but, let's say that some sub-10 guy tells me the Hualong is great... maybe I will find it unstable. E.g.: I bougth a 357 because Felix started using it as his new main and I was just curious to try it. Well, I have not tried it much still but for me it's like a twisty thing in my hands, the core flexes too much and I cannot turn accurately, perhaps I am used to more blocky cubes...

This post is already too long, I hope I made my point through :)

Liying or Yueying which is better

Oh my! I started to write and write... and I didn't even answer to your original question.

In this case I guess there should be a simpler answer, as the Yueying is supposed to be an improvement over the Liying, in fact I watched a video (don't remember from whom) suggesting a mod to the liying that goes in the exact direction of the yueying (filling part of the hollowness of the corners). But, who knows, there are lots of people that talk wonders of the Liying too. I have the 1st one in the series (the Huanying) and I like it a lot but it is a bit "rough" so I hope the Yueying will be an improvement over that (if it ever comes in the mail some day, hehehe, I ordered it like 3 or 4 weeks ago, damn long delivery times on those chinese online shops).

Hello. I used to cube quite a bit about 5 years ago when I was in middle school but I gave it up after someone at school stole my cube (twice). I used to use a standard Rubik's brand cube from fredmeyers which sucked and now that I want to get back in to cubing I want to get a slightly better one online. Which cube would be good for me that doesn't cost too much money? Also a note, I was using my friends speedcube and kept popping out the pieces because I turn it really hard apparently from being used to the old sucky cubes if that helps me choose

If I were you I would either decide whether you want a speedcube or not. A shengshou 3x3 costs only $3 and they are in between my rubiks and newisland speedcube. Also you can lower the tension in speedcubes my popping off the center cap and tightening or loosening the screw.

Is it worth it to keep buying bigger cubes? I recently bought an 8x8, but wonder if I would be better off buying smaller, cheaper puzzles due to the high cost of larger cubes. Thanks again

What would be the differences between a normal cube and a speedcube? Is a speedcube just better quality and more expensive? Or is there another benefit besides price for a normal cube?

The YJ cubes (Sulong, Chilong, Yulong, Guanlong) are probably the best cheaper cubes. They're very similar to each other, so it doesn't really matter which one you get. None of them have popping problems more than most cubes, so if you put them on tighter tensions it should be fine.

Youll know how great speedcubes are when you get one. Go for a chilong, sulong, yulong or guanlong (good quality + not so expensive)

I have a few 3x3s (Guanlong, Huanying, Guhong +), shengshou stuff (4x4, 5x5, 2x2, megamix, pyramix, skewb,)

Cube recommendations? Should I get better 3x3s and 4x4s or move on to other puzzles? BTW Im in the high-17s average and not planning to buy 6x6 or bigger cubes

many speed cubes these days all have outstanding performance. If you want something Inexpensive, try something like the Yuxin 3x3. Also, I hear the Gans 357
Suits rough turning styles well. The yuxin is $9 and the Gans 357 is 15$ ( most speed cubes these days are around 15$).

Edit: this is at gren, I didn't know there was another page
.
@Eduard I would buy a better 3x3 and 4x4, for 4x4 id go with the Yuxin or Aosu, and for 3x3 there are way too many choices.
