So I'm planning on buying a Shengshou bundle pack of 2x2x2-5x5x5. Is this wise? And are there different types? I just want a non-locking, non-popping, smooth/fast puzzle. Noise isn't an issue. I am also thinking of buying a Megaminx, but all I see are people who are frustrated with the one they own.

So you want a perfect puzzle basically, that is asking for a lot. I haven't tried the ShengShou 2x2 but it most likely is decent. Not world class but decent. The 3x3 depends which ShengShou 3x3 it is. If it is the Aurora it is a good puzzle, if it's anything else it will be pretty bad. The 4x4 has to be a version 4 or 5, if it's lower it wont be great. Also the 4x4 needs modding to be great (Cyoubx's Konsta/Florian modding guide, watch it). The 5x5 is the best out there if you Florian mod it. It's also pretty good out of the box.

It's a pretty good choice. Witwo V1 or Dayan 2x2 would be better for 2x2. MoYu WeiLong, Dayan Zhanchi/Guhong, FangShi Shuangren would be better for a 3x3, though the Aurora is great too. Also the 4x4 does need to be modded so it doesnt lock up. The 5x5 will always have a chance to pop if you want to have a fast one.

All I can say is that the Dayan Megaminx turns great; The ridges just feel so rough and horrible that they completely ruin solving it. Without ridges might be a great option.

Anyone know how puzzleaddictions & izovire is doing? I've order from them three weeks ago without any notification or response

Sorry man but the Weilong is nothing like the guhong.

OP I'd say try a lunhui. It's a great little cube.

My weilong is a lot like my guhong. It's just a lot faster and louder but the general feeling (smooth and slightly crispy) is exactly the same.

OP for no lock ups and smooth turning, weilong but you should have better turning accuracy and not depend on cubes that are very forgiving. Guhong v2 is also very good.

I can't find info on how to mod/what mods are/which mods are which anywhere. I've searched and search. I'm being that little noob who is requesting a URL now. Sorry! Help?

Are Mefferts 4x4's Competition Legal?

I'm going to a competition soon and I need a decent 4x4, I have gone through a Rubiks brand, 2 QJ's and I really need one. I would like a mefferts and I was just wondering if they were competition legal because of the bulky tiles and the "Mefferts" engraved on one corner. If not, does anybody know what 4x4 would be good for competition?

Shengshou is pretty much the only 4x4 used in comps atm because it's just the best, and the florian+konsta mod makes it even better. i wouldn't even consider getting anything else

there is a rule that says that cubes cant have tiles thicker than X amount of millimetres. i dont know if they would care though. you should prolly do some more research before buying. so you can figure out which of the 4x4s you would like best because it sounds like youre just willy nilly buying 4x4s trying to find a good one.
