Which to buy:

The last two are both black. I really prefer white, but I can't seem to find a white equivalent for either. Tell me which to buy, based solely quality (not price), and if it's one of the last two, please tell me how I can get one in white.

I don't mind spending the time to mod a Type A V, but I'm not sure if it will be as good quality as the HaiYan I can buy directly.

Hm, actually the third link does seem to have a white equivalent:

It says "new", so i'm not sure if it is the exact equivalent. The white seems to have visible indentations along the edges of the center pieces, while the black does not. Also, since the white is half the price of the black, I'm wondering if there's some error...

In addition to a HaiYan, I'm also looking for a DaYan. Which is better? Again, please answer purely based on a quality standpoint.

As for the two different whites, I'm OK with the color of either, I'm just not sure if there's a quality difference (maybe in the dye? I have no clue)

IMO just get an AV and do the mod yourself, it really isn't hard and the "quality" of the mod wont suffer unless you dont understand how sandpaper works

Also IMO, the GuHong is better than the LingYun. But it all depends on personal preference. But if you're gonna buy an AV and mod it, i would get the GuHong because the lingyun is more of an AV feel than the GuHong, and its always nice to have different feels of cubes to try out

It's been awhile since I last cubed and when I quit the top two cubes most people had were Alpha fives or something like that and the F-II. I was wondering what most people think the best 3x3 is now because I am considering coming back to cubing and I need a good cube.

Alright, might get both, previously had an F-II but the second time I had lubed it, it's performance degraded a lot.

I'm thinking about an alpha v or f II and this will be my first speedcube after having a rubik's brand for years. I'm a somewhat rough cuber so i was thinking alpha v, but is the loudness really that bad, or should i go for the f II?

I have two store bought rubik's cubes, one of them really sucks and the other one I love.
I've heard some good things a about the Dayan Guhong, if so should I get a DIY or pre built?
Any other cubes that you just can't go wrong with?

Please respond quickly as I need it for use in a drumline show for this year and I'd like some time to get used to them before using them in a performance.
Just to narrow it down I'm looking at A-III-f, A-V-f, YJ, Ghost hands I and II, Haiyan's, Alpha I, A-V, type-Q, and C-III.

That doesn't really narrow it down, and why not GuHong while you can still get it or the F ii?

From you're list, I'd go with the A-V.

The sites I can use don't carry Guhong (because of the issue) and F-II pops too much for what I need it for.

The guhong and a5 would be your best pick. If you decide to go in for a ghost hand, the 1 is more stable then the 2. Direct Links to them are in the thread in my sig.
